Storm is #1 in Comic Vine's Top 100 Superheroes 2011

Comicvine is fun if you want to randomly vote in battles about certain characters' powers and attributes. It's also probably the best encyclopedia for comics characters. In fact, I'd say that it's pretty much the Wikipedia of comics. It's very good if you want to know about your favorite characters and participate and the interactive stuff they have.

But them voting Storm is a symptom of too many fans leaning one side. I love Storm, but there is no way she wouldn't make the top 10 of any poll that isn't populated by people with an agenda. Not saying that the people who voted for her are horrible, but if Storm was really that popular her minis would have sold better than what they did.

You know what's a s**ty super power that's really boring? Something you see everyday. Like, weather.

Controlling weather is actually pretty badass.

Yeah. i also think Comicvine can boast profiles of comic characters.

Relax, the poll is not about the top 100 greatest comic characters of all time. it's an annual poll ok?

Well, i think Storm has more fans from around the world. Unfortunately, her minis doesn't really get here. Comics doesn't really reach to a lot of places around the world. so i wait for graphic novels version instead.

and comicvine doesn't have all the people around the world. So possibly, there are just a lot of Storm fans on that site who voted and other characters fans ignored voting the poll.

Controlling weather is actually pretty badass.

But if you're constantly getting knocked out or trapped in enclosed spaces, fat lot of good it does ya.

*looks over the poll results*

I love Aquaman as much as the next guy (probably more, considering how much crap he gets), but he came out on that poll ranked higher than Optimus Prime, Captain Kirk, and Spider Jerusalem*. That just doesn't sit well with me.

*Spider Jerusalem's not even a superhero!

I think he's better than all those guys.....well.....maybe not Prime. But he's not a Superhero. He's Super Hardware. :o

Neither is Kirk for that matter. F**kin' Trekkies. :argh:

I went through more of that list and found The Doctor. His status as a superhero is as questionable as Captain Kirk's, and I say that as the dude who broke his trend of duck avatars for a Doctor Who character.

I don't know, the Doctor fits the mold of a Superhero more than the rest of them dudes. He's saved the Universe....like.....a bajillion times. If Batman counts as basically a human who does extraordinary things in a funky lookin' costume then the Doctor totally counts. Each Doc has always had a signature look. Counts as a costume. Plus he's an Alien, so, he's got that.

Yeah, I think the Doctor fits the mold of a Superhero. Why not?

But f**k Kirk. Jedi's too.

The Jedi can go kick rocks. They weren't even any good at protecting the Republic.

Buncha failures. Shoulda totally saw the double cross coming.

Batman woulda saw it coming. :o

A 5 year old would've seen the double cross coming. You have no idea how confused I was at the end of Attack of the Clones.

The facts:
1. Someone tried to kill Padme.
2. The people trying to kill Padme are working against the Jedi and the Republic.
3. Obi traced Padme's would-be assassin to a planet whose coordinates have been deliberately removed from the Jedi's records.
4. Obi finds a secret army being cloned at the facility linked to the conspiracy being formed against the Republic.

Why oh WHY didn't anyone think the army that was secretly being made to use against them would turn against them?

Wow if Storm is considered #1 by fans then the comic book industry is in more instability than I thought.

Storm is a great character.
Storm is a nice addition to the upcoming Avengers roster.
Storm is awesome in MvC3.
Storm is NOT the best Superhero, though.

All of this.

Hell, I don't even think that she's the best female or black superhero. I'd like to think Wonder Woman (though I prefer Ms. Marvel) and Black Panther hold those spots.

I'm still wondering why this thread exists. For lulz, I suppose. For lulz. :o

I looked up 'Storm, x-men, face palm' on google image and this is what I found.

I have no idea what's going on here, but it looks like Prof X hates other people's love. :csad:

I wonder why they don't draw professor X with the evil eyebrows anymore.

This is like a fanboy labeling Felix Trinidad as the Greatest Boxer of all Time...

Controlling weather is actually pretty badass.

Sure, in real life, it'd be interesting for the person that could control it. However, it's boring as hell reading about or watching someone who's power is weather, when there are people that can shoot optic blasts from their face or teleport. She's Bore-oro Munroe.

I'm pretty sure hitting people with Lightening and whipping up tornadoes falls under the category of bad freakin' ass.

No, the only thing Boring about Storm is....well.....everything besides her powers.

lol @ Bore-oro. For some reason I always think of "Oreo" when I hear her name.

Has Storm ever said or done anything interesting...? Or had one cool arc that centered mostly around her? Maybe an origin story for that terrible 80's mohawk she once had... "Days of Haircuts Past"?

She's had a few good stories. That Morlocks thing. When she beat Cyclops ass for leadership of the X-Men. Without powers by the way.......probably some other stuff. Honestly, she hasn't done anything interesting in 15 years.

And marrying BP kinda f**ked both of them up.

In all honesty, I think Storm is pretty bland.

Do you think BP ever asks Storm to use her powers for the benefit of their sex life?

Like "let's do it in a storm cloud with 90% precipitation and 55 miles per hour winds, baby!"

And Storm's such a boring prude, she would say "no, that would be an abuse of my sacred, weather powers. I cannot do such a baseless act."

And that's when BP walks out and has an affair with Psylocke. :o

:funny: I can't help but laugh at the mere thought.

Nooooooooope.

Weather already does that on a regular basis. Not interesting at all. That dude whose mutant power is speaking languages is more interesting than Storm.
