Comics Storyline info for Brubaker's upcoming run on Uncanny

What exactly are Kid Vulcan's powers? I have been reading Deadly Genesis and it looks like his powers are similar to Legion or even Phoenix. Is he a telepath-teke-pyrotic? It just doesnt look clear to me what they are.

He is an energy manipulator first and foremost. But it remains to be seen whether or not he "inherited" his dead teammate's powers (Darwin Boy, Petra and Sway) as it looks like he might have. Rachel made the comment in Deadly Genesis that he recently rose to omega level rank, so I'm guessing he either gained his teammate's powers or got a serious boost of power when he was revived following HOM.
