What straight to DVD movie would you like to see Spidey do. Which comic I mean, would you like them to do?

Mine would be The Death of Gwen. And the Coming Home story line with the Morlun battle. That and the ALL of Ultimate Spider-Man.

Nothing Can Stop The Juggernaut
Death Of Kraven
Maximum Carnage

I agree with Cap and Dacman.
Although I'm not sure if Nothing can stop the juggernaut and the Death of Kraven would be good for a movie. (because the endings might be underwhelming to some folk)

Maximum Carnage would be greaaaat. I'm not a fan of the story on paper but it would work excellent on DVD. Seeing Peter push his limits against a foe that has absolutely no problems killing would be way different. :D
Coming home is another must. It's just epic through and through and feels like a movie even on paper.

Not sure about ultimate Spidey though. I'd rather that become a t.v. series.
It just feels written that way to me.
but hey we've already got the spectacular spider-man. I don't think anything could top that. ;)

I would love to see Kraven's Last Hunt.

Or the Clone Saga.

Definitely Coming Home, and maybe the first Green Goblin storyline of Ultimate Spiderman. Bendis wrote a chilling Norman Osborn back then.

Agreed with two. But the Juggernaut story? Why? The movie would be like 11 minutes long. And I'm assuming you meant "Kraven's Last Hunt." Which could be great along with Maximum Carnage.

Right. They could call it "The Origin of Ultimate Spider-Man." Have it contain the first 7 issues.

Though I love the new series, it might be the best one yet it could be better. Everything about it is top notch except the animation. It is kind of simplistic. You eventually get used to it and I understand they have deadlines and budget to think about. But that's why I want to see a movie. They wouldn't have to worry about a deadline and the budget would be much bigger. Look at what The Spectacular Spider-Man was going to look like if they didn't have to make cuts. Imagine a full length Ultimate Spider-Man movie that looks even better than this.

What about The Clone Saga?

The best animated series ever, if you ask me. :spidey::up:

They really do need to do a DTV Spider-Man movie. So far, pretty much all of Marvel's main guys have gotten a movie, except for Spidey.

I think you'd simply have to start with The Death of Gwen Stacy. It's the definitive Spider-Man story.

Plus we've never seen that in any animated show yet.

Maximum Carnage
Kraven's Last Hunt
The Death of Gwen Stacy

Better than Cowboy Bebop? Or are we just talking superhero related animated series? I think early 90's Batman and early 90's X-Men wins that one too.

Spectacular is that good? I bought the first DVD they released a while back. It was good...but I wouldn't say it was the best thing ever. Has it improved that much?

Yeah the Juggernanut story is an exceptional piece of work, one of the greatest stories ever. But it doesn't work as a film. It could work as an episode of a TV series though

Season 2 is awesome dude. The writing on the show is way better than the 90's cartoon, and this is coming from someone who LOVES the 90's cartoon.

Yeah your right the animation is a little on the childish side. (Parker looks like Ben 10) But I've really grown accustomed to it. The animation is fantastic, characters look like they should. As great a show as it is, I hope they go on for ten years. :yay:

Wow. It looks more realistic, but still has it's own style.

A little too anime if you ask me. Spidey is also a little too skinny compared to his look in the new cartoon where he's not over toned up but still muscular.

I'd rather keep what we got now. :cwink:

As far as a DVD movie is concerned. I think they would use the same style, to define it's relation to the animated series.

Look at Batman: TAS movies like "Mask of the phantasm" and "sub zero".
Which came out even when the new batman series started. (sub zero)

Maximum Carnage
Kraven's Last Hunt
The Death of Gwen Stacy

Blah your being biased lol.
Without the original Batman: TAS there probably would be no spectacular Spider-man.

Justice league was pretty amazing as well. They got me interested in alot of characters that I didn't like before. Spectacular Spidey DEFINITELY ranks right up there, I would say there even in terms of entertainment.

I think right now the clone saga could make for a good plot in Spider-man 4.

They like to go with themes revolving around power and responsibility.

  1. Getting the power and learning to apply it
  2. Learning to live with great responsibility (which is why it was the best)
  3. Learning to deal with the powers responsibly.
  4. Having competition for all that responsibility
They could use Kaine to fix all that Spider-man Day nonsense they did in the 3rd movie. (make his status as a menace as it should be!)

Although I really want to see the lizard and kraven as the next main villains. With at least one throw away villain (shocker or rhino)

(that would be soooo awesome)
The clone saga would be really cool as well.

Buy the rest, and honestly, season 2 is even better. If you're a huge Spidey fan, you'll love this show.

I've watched that cartoon a few times and thought it was the WORST animated series I have ever seen. And it has the absolutely WORST theme song I have ever heard for a cartoon or television series. :wow:

THe 90's Spidey cartoon was much better, in my opinion.

Wow? Really?
How many episodes have you watched?
How can you love brand new day and not like this show at all???
The writing has been 10 times better. Don't let the animation and theme fool you.

It has,

  • Character development. (Most villains appear as normal characters before they become super powered.)
  • Every episode is self contained yet builds into something much greater. :D
  • SUBPLOTS!!!
  • Accurate use and display of Peter's powers (including strength something the 90s series really fell hard on)
  • Peter's life is just as important as Spidey's. The character's compliment him, unlike in the current comics where other people lead lives and he doesn't.
  • Great humor. Spidey is soooo funny! :woot:
  • Serious innuendo to keep adults into the show.
  • Peter learns to adapt to his villains throughout the series. He is not the same Spidey as when he starts the series out. I love how he learns to use their weaknesses against them.
  • Peter also ages. Next season he will be a senior. :cwink:
  • Great use of classic characters. I have never cared more for Gwen Stacy, and Tombstone is now one of my favorite baddies of all time for Spidey.
What more do you need for a great Spidey show? If I could trade this for the 90s show (which i loved) I would in a heart beat, it's hands down one of the best shows on t.v. right now. :spidey::up:

I love the new theme. Everything about it is better. Just look and compare the lyrics.

And the worst Spidey theme song was by far and away this one...

I think you've confused the two animated series.

Spec is awesome.

I didn't like the 90's animated series that much. It was all right in the beginning, but it got REALLY bad REALLY fast. So bad, that they did a CLONE SAGA. Ugh.

Personally, I think it may be my fave animated series ever. Right up there with Batman:TAS.

I wouldn't do any direct to DVD movies for Spidey. Just keep Spectacular Spider-Man going and let it cover the stories fromt he comics....although I don't know if I could handle Gwen dying. She's such a cool character in the show.

I think everyone is forgetting the BEST spider-man song.

Spiderman, Spiderman,
Does whatever a spider can
Spins a web, any size,
Catches thieves just like flies
Look Out!
Here comes the Spiderman.

Is he strong?
Listen bud,
He's got radioactive blood.
Can he swing from a thread
Take a look overhead
Hey, there
There goes the Spiderman.

In the chill of night
At the scene of a crime
Like a streak of light
He arrives just in time.

Spiderman, Spiderman
Friendly neighborhood Spiderman
Wealth and fame
He's ingnored
Action is his reward.

To him, life is a great big bang up
Whenever there's a hang up
You'll find the Spider man.
