Sci-Fi Stranger Things (Netflix) - Part 1

We need Val Kilmer or Fisher Stevens in this season.
I don't think Val Kilmer would be possible given his condition. Unless he's made a huge recovery that I didn't know of.

Yep, though I imagine he'll have a very small role.

And there it is.

Hopper was indeed 'the American' and he's still alive (and possibly brainwashed, maybe).

Shocked/Not Shocked face.

Kinda bummed the Netflix trailers for some of their best shows are revealing so much recently.

Altered Carbon season two trailer also showed stuff that really ought to have been saved.

Mostly everyone knew
Hopper was still alive
by paying attention to the details, so this isn't really a big reveal.

Sure. Thus my shocked/not shocked reaction.

Still... Any dramatic tension has been significantly reduced. Not fatal to enjoyment but, well... One "mystery" completely solved before even seeing minute one of the first episode.

I will say...
I am still thinking they will swerve us and that Hopper... He's not entirely Hopper.

I'm kinda glad they didn't try to do the whole Jon Snow thing and pretend he was dead until like, episode 2. And let's be honest; the show wouldn't work without him so it's better to just come right out and show it.

Also, dude looks badass bald. If he wasn't already Red Guardian, I'd want him for Kingpin.

Awesome little tease IMO and yeah I think we all pretty much expected Hopper to return. It is a little surprising that they are revealing him this early though, but I actually like that because they are pretty much letting us know that it's not some big secret or pretending that is.

Why are people using spoiler tags? It is in a tv spot. :funny:

I like that they aren't playing this game with Hopper. We all knew he was alive. I wonder if this means filming they can't really hide or if there is another reason they did this.

Interesting new look. I'm glad it's not being dragged out. Hopper being alive somehow was expected and so it should be a focus of the story and not a build up reveal for too long
Yep. Makes you think there is another twist to him. Maybe he isn't quite right? Maybe he is a clone?

I’ve seen people on Twitter complain that TV doesn’t let characters stay dead anymore and all I could think was “...... you guys really believed he was dead?”

Anyway, it was smart for Netflix to get ahead of this one. There was no WAY it wouldn’t get out. If a single iPhone pic placed him within a 50 mile radius of Georgia while this thing is in production, people would know exactly what it means. Just get that out of the way and hype up the **** they won’t see coming a mile away.

They already all but confirmed he lived in the season 3 finale with that "the American" reference in Russia.

Yep, but I remember there were folks assuming that it was a red herring and it was actually Brenner (or even less likely, Billy :funny:).
