I mean I’m not losing any sleep over this but I think it’s a nice detail that they’d go back and quickly edit that little bit. It’s cool that they’ve actually done this before without us knowing as well. I appreciate if they fix things like that. Like I’ve always wished they’d go back and edit out “8 years later” in Homecoming. That **** annoys me haha

I also don’t care too much but if they can then it’s no harm to fix it for people who do.

There's a part of me that hopes that we get at least one more scene with Victor actually interacting with Vecna, but it seems very unlikely that we'll see Englund pop up again in Volume 2.

If not Vol 2, then seeing Victor show up in S5 would be great! If Vecna is still around, of course.

I haven't rewatched season 1 in years. Given how much older they look and have grown by season 4 that should be fun seeing what they were like in season 1 again.

I binged all 4 seasons within 2 weeks and you really see the difference in the kids between seasons 2 and 3. They grew up big during that time.

Tbf, that's probably because there was only a year between S1 to S2, versus two years between S2 to S3. Kids grow up ****ing quick in that time lmao

It was weird seeing Dustin in the first episode of season 3 (especially if you just saw the season 2 finale a few minutes before). His body grew big but his face stayed the same lol

I wish they had kept to a similar schedule and released season 3 in fall 2018 and season 4 in fall 2019, that way the kids growing up wouldn't have been as jarring and we also might have gotten to season 5 by now. I think one of the major reasons why there was so much time between seasons 2 and 3 was because they were accommodating Millie Bobby Brown's filming schedule for Godzilla. Maybe David Harbour's for Hellboy too.

2017, a year after S1.

Yeah but I also think the other obvious answer would be to just change the time jump. Rather than 1 year, it's 2. Would explain the growth spurts and would probably be doable with a minor rewrite of key details

Halloween 2017, a little over a year after the first season, which is about the same amount of time as between seasons one and two. Season four had almost three times as much time before it was released. If it hadn’t been for COVID-19, we’d probably have gotten next season either at the end of this year or summer of 2023. In an alternate timeline, the series would probably only be a few months to its conclusion. That’s insane to think about.

I can understand why they would want to write a big time jump into the next season. They were barely just straining credulity on the actors playing characters this season that are supposed to be only half a year older. I thought it still worked and didn’t bother me as much, but they definitely can’t pull that off with Stranger Things 5. The writing definitely has to accommodate the younger actors very obvious growing and changing physical appearances, or else it could become really distracting and border on parody.

The time jump is making me wonder how they'll wrap up this season. Like, it would be a letdown if everything was just solved, Vecna killed and the Upside Down still being covered up to the majority of Hawkins' populace.

Pretty sure the shot of El looking at the Upside Down in seeping into Hawkins in the trailer is a good indicator that's not gonna happen

In all honesty, it's not 100% guaranteed there will be a jump between S4 and S5. The other seasons kinda made it necessary to explain the kids aging, but they're now all early 20s and are unlikely to have as drastic a change from year to year that they did previously. Wouldn't surprise me if S5 immediately follows where S4 ends
