Stranger Things Season Two Discussion (Spoilers)

I'm setting this up to discuss the expected season two (based on the response the series has gotten, it seems to be a foregone conclusion) but without having to worry about being all spoiler-y.

So with that being said.....my questions and expectations....

1. Is Eleven alive? I think she is.

2. What is Hop's role with the government agents now? Why is he leaving those waffles in that box? I have no clue on either one.

3. What is the Demogorgon and what was it doing to Will? My guess, it's an intelligent creature, so maybe something scientific.

4. Is Will able to crossover into the Upside Down without a door? I'm expecting so, or he'll be able to make his own door like the Demogorgon.

5. What does the government want? The creature? Or control of the Upside Down?

Definitely think Eleven is alive. I don't think Hop would have known about the Eggos unless he'd already had some sort of interaction with Eleven in the month interlude before the epilogue.

Not really sure about the monster and the thing it left in Will. Could be a procreation, parasitic kind of thing. Could be preservation.

Will might not necessarily be able to cross over, but see the upside down telepathically. Could be a combination of the creature left behind by the monster (who could cross over at will) the telepathic interaction with Eleven, and extended exposure to the upside down's environment.

I think the government wants to weaponize anything they can get, and cover up the collateral damage that's been done. Co-opping hop into the organization gives them a man on the outside to facilitate those ends.

I'm guessing the government knows she likes Eggos since she stole about 6 boxes of them from the store. There probably was a lot of information gathering in the month that followed the events.

Good call on the weaponizing.

There were other cocoons, like the one with Barbara, with other dead people in them. I dunno why, made me think the Demogorgon is experimenting for some reason, but it could be procreation.

Eleven will be back. She was the heart of the series. The question is how and in what form will she return in?

The creature probably left a "seed" inside of Will.

Hop working with the government agents...you got me there, he definitely made some arrangement with them in exchange for the kids' safety.

Yeah, the Hopper thing had me most curious. There was definitely more to that arrangement he made with them.

But Eleven is alive.

And I love how everything with Will isn't all hunky dorey. You don't just come back from something like that unscathed. I imagine he could be the way for the others to connect with Eleven.

Another question is Dr. Brenner. Is he dead? You never see a corpse, we're just left to assume he's dead.

And then what about 11, is she the daughter of that catatonic woman (don't recall the name) and Dr. Brenner's daughter? Honestly, she could be both.

Agreed. Will's story will be the biggest focal point in season 2. He didn't get a lot of the action in season one but right now I'm most fascinated about his character than 11 or Hop.

Definitely see more of Will. He is going to be telepathic and hit up an understanding with Ell.
Mike will become jealous and turn into Brenner 2.0.

Another question is Dr. Brenner. Is he dead? You never see a corpse, we're just left to assume he's dead.

Brenner's definitely alive. They would have shown his death if they didn't want to leave the option open for him to return. And he's probably not Eleven's real father.
