Stupid People Doing Stupid Things Thread - Part 1

I think we can all agree that the majority of people on this earth are of a sound mind and generally do things to not cause ill will in the world. This thread is not for those people. This thread is for that other 1%, the people that do things so stupid you honestly can't believe they thought it was a good idea at one point.

So if you find something that has someone has done and you can't describe it in any other way than stupid or moronic please share those stories here so we can all bask in their glory and share them with our friends and co-workers.

Ahh new thread smell. Started this back in February and I had no idea that there would be that many stupid people stories to fill up a thread so quickly. Thanks to all that post and discuss!

Remember anytime you read a story to post it here so we can all marvel at them.

Truck Driver Causes Fatal Collision While Looking at Porn

A British truck driver plowed into a car stopped on a highway shoulder, killing a 20-year-old woman, because he was trying to simultaneously drive and look at porn.

Ian Glover, 44, said he didn't remember what happened in the moments before his truck collided with the parked Vauxhall, ramming it over the safety barrier. But the browsing histories of two of three phones found in his cabin showed he had been viewing adult dating websites—including sexuk dot com and shagaholic dot co dot uk—while driving.

He later admitted he'd been flipping through nude images on the hookup sites at the time of the crash.

Laura Thomas and her fiancé Lewis Pagett, both 20 years old, were standing by their broken-down car when Glover's truck crashed into it, sending it flying over a safety barrier. Both were injured, and Thomas died in a helicopter on the way to the hospital.

"Laura and I were looking forward to planning our wedding together - instead, I ended up planning her funeral. We had known each other since we were 13, and we were so excited to spend the rest of our lives together," Pagett said. "Laura had so much life to give, she had a heart of gold and aimed to become a teacher for disabled children."

"You were on these sites at the point of impact," a Shrewsbury Crown Court judge told Glover, "For many miles you were not paying proper attention. This was utterly avoidable."

Glover pleaded guilty to dangerous driving and was sentenced to five years.

He ABSOLUTELY should have gotten more than 5 years. This kind of thing happens all the time. The drunk driver that killed my brother didn't even see the inside of a prison. They waste all their time and resources doing **** like chasing grown people doing drugs in their own homes not hurting a soul, but I see situations like this where lives have been taken, and the justice system gives them a slap on the wrist.

Gun Activists Cut Up NRA Member Cards Over Criticism Of AR-15s In Restaurants

In its statement last week, the NRA said that activists in Texas had recently "crossed the line from enthusiasm to downright foolishness" with their attempts to bring semi-automatic rifles into fast food restaurants. Open Carry Texas -- the most prominent group involved in the Texas demonstrations -- responded Monday by saying it was "unfortunate that an organization that claims to be dedicated to the preservation of gun rights would attack another organization fighting so hard for those rights in Texas."

"Already, OCT members are posting pictures of themselves cutting up their life membership cards," the group said. "If they do not retract their disgusting and disrespectful comments, OCT will have no choice but to withdraw its full support of the NRA and establish relationships with other gun rights organizations that fight for ALL gun rights, instead of just paying them lip service the way the NRA appears to be doing."

So do they need rifles in restaurants in case the waiter gets snippy or what? What possible reason could they have for demanding to bring semi-automatic rifles into a place to eat? People need to calm the hell down over guns and start thinking.

I think the servers should have the rifles to ward off ****** tippers. :D

A concealed in waist band .380 or 9mm is more than enough in 99% of the situations they could ever possibly encounter. Its like these fools think world war 3 is going to break out over their mcdouble combo. As if the North Koreans and the terrorists are hiding in the damn handicap stall in the bathrooms.

For my own personal story, we had our carpets cleaned today and I decided to set up the motion sensor on my webcam (I usually do it when leaving for hours at a time because I've always thought my mom went through my stuff which she has done a few times but that's another story)

Anyways, I set my camera and when they left and the carpet dried up a bit I checked my computer and caught one of the guys stealing $120 out of my wallet. The first thing he did when he came into my room was take $.75 off my dresser and I was like 'Whatever', then he started playing with one of my knives on my desk and I was like 'Ugghook'.

Then he grabbed my wallet and took money out and I was like...

'Oh hell no.. Sh** just got real.'

Anyways, long story short. The owner got the employee to admit that he took my money and he fired him, I had a feeling it could be a knucklehead that he hired and so I decided to not press charges as the owner followed up with a phone call after getting him to confess and he's going to return the money. I talked to a cop and it's up to me of course and I can press charges later if the money never comes or something like that. I just hope it's the right call.

If he refuses to give the money back then do it.

The business owner should have forked over the money ASAP especially since you have it on tape regardless of whether or not the employee said they'd return it. He also should refund any charges for the carpet cleaning, but that's just how I do business.

If the owner tries to stall about giving the money back then tell him you're considering pressing charges against the company for theft or something. That should get him going.

Well, hopefully he returns the money, and it doesn't come to that. It's almost more of a hassle to deal with the system than it's worth over $120 unfortunately. :(

Yeah the owner is also refunding the money for the carpet (my carpet does looks fantastic though, I'll refer you guys to them if you want..:hehe:), but from what I understand he was already on another job in another city when we started calling them. It's supposed to be returned tomorrow.

The owner also confronted his employee asking if he had taken anything when we first called them and the employee denied doing anything. The owner later called back on his own saying that after pressing him about it the employee admitted that he took the money so that was where I started thinking the owner actually might be Ok in this, but you never know.

I don't want to ruin this dude's business if this was a case of him hiring a knucklehead, but at the same time I hope they're not a bunch of a**holes doing this on a regular basis. I guess you'll never know.

The way the guy comes in though and takes change off my dresser with the first thing he sees is like this isn't the first time he's done it or something. What an a**hole.

I'm sure it absolutely isn't the first time he's done it. He seems way too comfortable from the sound of things.

Here's the video in case you want to seeHe takes some change in the beginning, tries to play with a switchblade next, then cleans out my wallet after that. He opens my wallet again to look at my ID again very quickly too, probably to see what I look like.

The really stupid thing is anyone would notice that amount of money gone and the only people that would have been in the house is the cleaners so who does he think that was going to get blamed on?

Yeah I took that money out for rent too so I was of course going to notice. But then again, if I didn't have the footage I'm not sure there's much I can do without proof.

Two 12-Year-Olds Allegedly Stabbed Third to Please Slender Man

xh7kylgupgsmwunkgegg.jpg

Prosecutors are saying that two twelve-year-old girls from Waukesha, Wisconsin stabbed their friend nearly to death as a way to "please a mythological creature they learned about online." Both girls have been charged with first-degree attempted homicide and will stand trial as adults.

According to a criminal complaint, the two friends invited the third over for a slumber party on Friday night, where they were planning on stabbing her. They put it off for the next day, when they all played a hide-and-seek game in a wooded park. "One girl told the other to 'go ballistic, go crazy,' according to the complaint."

Via the Associated Press, this was all done to please a character called Slender Man:

One of the girls told a detective they were trying to become "proxies" of Slender Man, a mythological demon-like character they learned about on creepypasta.wikia.com, a website about horror stories and legends. They planned to run away to the demon's forest mansion after the slaying, the complaint said.
The victim was stabbed 19 times and left in the woods by the two suspects. She was able to crawl to the side of the road where a bicyclist found her and called the police. She is currently in stable condition.

One of the suspects told investigators that she sees Slender Man in her dreams and that "he watches her and can read her mind and teleport."

If convicted, both girls could face up to 60 years in prison. Bail for both girls has been set at $500,000 each.

This is definitely a bizarre one, something was really wrong in their heads if they read a wiki and then stab a friend. Glad to see they will be tried as adults since I don't really buy their story

Man Stabbed to Death Over Wedding Leftovers and Cans of Sterno

A 58-year-old man was stabbed to death at a wedding, allegedly by his cousin, after he tried to take some leftover food and some cans of Sterno.

Juan Martinez suffered stab wounds to the legs after a vow-renewal ceremony at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in The Bronx Sunday night, police said. He died of the injuries at St. Barnabas Hospital. The only suspect, his cousin, is in custody.

"They fought about who was going to take the cans of Sterno, which was being used to heat food at the ceremony," a police spokesman told the New York Post.

"We have a person in custody, and we are speaking to him. It is early on in the investigation, but we feel confident that we have the right person," NYPD Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce added.

It's crazy that someone lost their life over something so trivial. Booze had to be involved, no rational human could do this

If you consider my point of view that everyone is an idiot then these things become much more believable.
