Stupid People Doing Stupid Things Thread - Part 3

This sounds like an urban legend but I also know there are people who have such an unbelievable fear of spiders I believe it could happen they lose all sanity and try to burn down a gas station in reprisal.

Luckily we have video of the stupidity!

It escaped and is now plotting its revenge.

Guy accidentally lights his apt on fire. At first I was going to make jokes but this idiot caused the death of two people.

Watched the beginning of the video, looks like he got a Zippo lighter with the small gas flask to refill it and tried to light the match on the flask or something...

One man injured after carjacking, shooting at gas station

Here we go. Good guy with a gun does an even dumber thing with a gun and shoots the victim in the head. I'd be laughing right now if the victim wasn't in the hospital.

The "hero" also picked up his shell casings and fled the scene.

HOUSTON -- One man is injured after a carjacking and shooting at a gas station in north Houston Saturday night.

Houston police responded to a shooting call around 11:15 p.m. Saturday at a Valero gas station on Jensen Drive at Reid Street in north Houston. Officials say two men jumped another man in the gas station parking lot and took the victim's Chevrolet pickup truck. Police say a witness then pulled out a gun and began shooting at the suspects, accidentally hitting the carjacking victim in the head.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital where he remains in stable condition. Police say the witness who shot at the suspects picked up shell casings and left the scene. Police found the stolen pickup truck about a mile down the road but are still searching for the suspects.

Some Children Just Can't Stop Themselves From Tempting Innocent Pedophiles, Explains Priest on Live TV

This week, a brave Catholic priest came out against the villainous young children who tempt pedophiles, telling a TV reporter the true victims are the priests, who sometimes “give up” under the relentless barrage of underage temptation.

The comments were broadcast on Italian TV, and like many visionaries—and nutcases—before him, his thoughts were not well-received. Via UPI:

The Rev. Gino Flaim said he “understands pedophilia” as an attempt by children to find affection.

He told Italy’s La7 television channel, “I’ve been to lots of schools, and I know children. Unfortunately there are children who seek affection because they don’t receive it at home and I understand that some priests can give up. Pedophilia is a sin, and like all sins has to be accepted.”

The priest was—understandably—less forgiving when asked about homosexuality, explaining that, unlike the rape of a child, consensual sex between two men is a “disease.”

He’s since been suspended, essentially setting the pedophilia movement back, though one suspects he won’t be the last to defend them. As for the gays—well, there are some things even the church can’t get behind.

Great, now we'll have even more idiotic police by way of citizens who think they are the law.

Apparently that's his third time to be arrested this year, all for drunken outbursts. Last time he broke a cops hand.

That should be his third underage. He shouldn't even be allowed to leave his house, kicked out of school (after paying full tuition), and not allowed to get a driver's license for a few years... let alone buy alcohol until he's 23 or later.

So child rape is just a forgivable sin but love between two consenting adults is a disease? This is why I having issues understanding why religion is something to be followed.

Woman live streams herself while driving drunk, police say

The amazing thing? Her lawyer is having her plead not guilty because she is "a young professional with a bright future." So the next time you are dumb enough to record yourself committing a crime just hire this guy to represent you. :hmr:

She is lost, exasperated, and -- by her own admission -- driving very drunk.

The young woman allegedly broadcast her illegal escapade over the weekend on Periscope, an app that allows users to live stream from their phones.

In the shaky video, she says she's drunk and doesn't know where she is going. She also says she thinks she's driving on a flat tire.

"Where am I right now, people?" the woman asks, over the sound of music playing in her car. "I have to go home."

Police in Lakeland, Florida, have identified the driver as 23-year-old Whitney Marie Beall. She was arrested and faces a charge of driving under the influence.

Her attorney reportedly released a statement saying that Beall would not be giving any interviews any time soon.

"She is a young professional with a bright future. When her court date is set, I will be entering a plea on her behalf of not guilty," attorney Lee Cohen said in a statement reported by CNN affiliate WFLA.

"I'll be investigating the case and that starts now. I am waiting to see all the evidence, and I will take a look at it," Cohen said.

Police began getting calls about Beall on Saturday from people who saw the live stream and were concerned.

"She was out of it. And it's obvious from watching that livestreaming video how bad she was," Lakeland police Sgt. Gary Gross told CNN affiliate Bay News 9.

Officers found Beall, who, in fact, was driving on a flat tire, police said in a statement. Just as a traffic stop was started, her car hit the curb.

According to police, Beall's speech was slow and officers smelled alcohol. She also allegedly appeared to be disoriented.

Beall was arrested after she refused a breathalyzer and failed field sobriety tests.

"The streaming Periscope video highlights the dangers of driving while intoxicated through the eyes of a drunk and irresponsible young adult," said police.

"The Lakeland Police Department is extremely thankful that this did not result in an accident and no one was injured as a result of her poor decision."

"Aunt loses lawsuit against 8-year-old nephew who jumped into her arms"
The Manhattan aunt who sued her young nephew for breaking her wrist when he leaped into her arms at his birthday party won’t be getting a cent, a jury ruled Tuesday.
The 54-year-old woman had been seeking $127,000 from the youngster, who was the only defendant in the lawsuit.
Connell, a human resources manager, called her nephew a “very loving, sensitive” boy who still needs to be held accountable.

She told jurors last week that she walked into the party March 18, 2011, when a 50-pound Sean spotted her and screamed: “Auntie Jen, Auntie Jen!”

“All of a sudden he was there in the air, I had to catch him, and we tumbled to the ground,” Connell told jurors.

“I remember him shouting, ‘Auntie Jen I love you,’ and there he was flying at me.”

Connell said the broken wrist still gives her problems even now.

Who sues an 8 year old? Is he Bill Gates kid? ****.

A friend of mine broke her foot in several places and had to be in a wheelchair for a month after her friend joyfully tackled her to a concrete sidewalk on her birthday. (The guy was like, 200 lbs, she is 100 lbs soaking wet.)

She is no longer friends with this guy. She, however, did not sue him. :o Because some people have a brain.

Or to make sure no one with any kids or pets ever wants her near them again.
