Report Subject: Phineas T. Horton
The subject began his research in 1929 in a small laboratory in the town of Timely Wisconsin. His study focused on the combination of plastics and carbon polymers to simulate human biology. The subject became a recluse after his wife divorced him for devoting too much time to his research. The only thing that was ably to tear him away was the untimely death of their 20-year-old son James. It was after this event that drove Horton to his breakthrough of what would be known as the Horton Cell an artificial cell (H42N2C2O6) that allowed Horton to create artificial versions of almost every type of human tissue. Tissue types that could not be simulated, such as human bone were substituted with a highly refined titanium aluminum alloy.
Agents of the SSR encountered the subject at his exhibit at the Stark Expo in 1943. Desperate for validation of his accomplishment the subject bribed several officials at the Expo to present his Vision of Tomorrow booth. Making wild claims of an artificial human drew the attention of several reporters until the moment of the reveal and what the crowd saw was what appeared to be a mannequin in a giant glass tube. Desperate to hold the crowds attention, the subject added oxygen to the tube to activate the synthetic being. An error in the reaction of the Horton cells with the titanium skeleton caused the being to spontaneously combust. This was the last straw for the reporters present, who left calling Horton a fraud and a conman, but one of the agents saw the mannequin move in a way that could only be described as human.
On the reliable recommendation of one of the agents present, a full interdiction team is deployed to collect the subject and the object. The subject had disabled his creation when agents collected him leaving the Expo and moved both to a research facility in Newark New Jersey. The subject has been cooperative during his interrogation and has been working with our scientist to study the object SSR personnel have come to call the Torch. It was when the object received a prolonged exposure to oxygen that thermal levels exceeded containment capacity and the object escaped. It was in no small part due to the efforts of several brave agents and Horton himself that convinced the Torch to stand down and ultimately decide to agree to being rendered inert once more. For the safety of the general public and to ensure the object is never coopted, the object is set in the cement foundation of the new facility replacing the Newark site.

Report Subject: The Azores Incident
There were an estimated 46 German U-Boats that were reported missing near the end of the War. An English destroyer was tracking one such U-Boat near the coast of Sao Miguel in the Azores archipelago when the vessel unexpectedly surfaced to the surprise of the destroyer crew who had trained their weapons on the U-Boat when what could only be described as a giant hand grabbed the nose of the sub and began to drag it back under. Normally such accounts would be dismissed had not one of the crew actually managed to escape. The crew member, one Heinrich Richter had escaped through one of the subs torpedo tubes and the vessel was pulled to the ocean floor. Richter claimed to get a brief glimpse of the creature and described it as a massive, whale-like thing with arms and legs. For the next few days. The Royal Navy sent divers in search of the wreckage, but found nothing. In the meantime SSR agents were completing their questioning of all involved when screams were heard coming from the infirmary where Richter was recovering. The guards posted in front of the door where dead and agents on site engaged two individuals attempting to kill Richter. One of the assailants tore a steel door off its hinges as if it were made of paper and used it as a battering ram to ploy through the gunfire and dive off the side of the ship. His partner was not as lucky and when down only after being hit six times by large caliber weapons. From the blue skin, large black eye and gills, the body seemed alien in appearance. Fearing the return of an even larger threat the destroyer was dispatched from the area and the SSR set up a temporary site on San Miguel.
Scientist flown in to the site had determined that the body of the dead assassin was a form of aquatic humanoid even going as far as to call it a Merman. In the weeks to come it would be discovered that Hitler has issued secret orders to many U-Boat commanders to search for the mythical lost city of Atlantis as part of his quest for all things occult. As it turned out, this particular U-Boat had done just that and was attempting to escape from whoever of whatever they had found. We had deduced that the assassination attempt was meant to prevent this knowledge from making to the surface world.
