Subscribe to this Thread

So, I'm checking out a thread, and a couple of pages in, I decide to subscribe. I click on the option in the drop-down menu, and I'm taken to a page where I can edit and confirm my subscription settings. After that, I get a "thank you" page, and then I'm sent back to the very first page of the thread. It feels like a lot of unnecessary work for such a simple request. But then again, I do much of my browsing at work, where I'm swamped up to the waist in excessive micromanagement, so maybe it's as it should be.

Anyway, I was just kind of wondering if this whole process could be streamlined a little, and thought I'd say something before I go off and do something else and then forget until the next time I find myself using this option. Thanks to whomever reads this and agrees or disagrees.

Well you can always post something and that would be it, you're subscribed (if you set your subcription options before, that is)

Yes, of course. I just want subscribe to a thread by using the drop-down menu. I don't want to leave the page I'm currently reading.

Edit: and yes, I'm also hooked on the Dynamite skin.

by default, if you post in a thread, you're subscribed. Else, you have to go through that song and dance each time.

Right, but since posting takes me to the end of the thread, and all I want is to subscribe without leaving the page I'm viewing, I'm looking for the ability to subscribe without having to post, verify settings, or receive a "thank you."

Then I suggest a different forum. That's hard coded into the software, meaning as far as I know and am able to prove, it's unchangable. Meaning, you're boned. Sorry, mate.
