How do YOU get your comics?

If subscription, list from where. ( Is Marvel.com the only place you can get em?)

If book store, plug it if you want.

If other, list it........like Red X's Comic Tree. :)

From comic trees.

I get Spider-man, F4 and black panther from subscription. I get annihilation and civil war from the comic store.

Comic book store. Gotta love the pull list

Being new to comics, I am unfamiliar with the term. What does "pull list" mean?

Pull list, refers to the comics you subscribe to at a comic book store or online that they "pull" for you, meaning reserve for your enjoyment.

I subscribe to a few Marvel titles, and the rest I buy online at Midtown comics, though i've been thinking of going back to comic shops.

pull list!! also it helps when ur LCS offers discounts cards and closes your LCS and offers you an extra 10% to move ur list to their main store. GOD I LOVE saving 30% off my comics

Hmmm....maybe I should ask my local comic store if they offer any kind of discount like that. It's called Gnu Books and they sell a whole bunch of reading material so I don't know if they have any comic exclusive offers.

I just sent an email to my LCS and within 1 minute I had a reply! Seems they do some kind of point system, for every dollar you spend you accumulate points that can be used towards future purchases.

I'm going to drop by tomorrow and get the full details.

Comic shop pull list for me. I think it's the best option really. I used to get Marvel books in the mail and they came all bent. :( No more of that for me. I get 20% off the cover price for ordering 20 titles or more each month.

by book store do you mean actual book store, or comicbook store?

Either is fine. I'm mainly just wondering if everyone is getting them over the internet via Marvel Subs, or through a local store.

I have another question about these Pull Lists. Do you pay an upfront fee of a years worth of a certain comic to guarantee you get it, and at lower price? Or do you just sign up and pay the lower price when your comic comes in?

it's different for every store

the way my store weeks is you make a $15 deposit (refundable if you ever close your list if you're moving or such) for subscribing to at least three monthly titles. Those titles are basicly garaunteed to me if the store gets them in, so I don't have to worry about them selling out. For being a subscriber, I get a 10% discount off all new comics and back issues, and 20% off supplies.

most stores will have some combination of these factors. Deposit amounts will vary, as will minimum number of titles, and the discount rates

Ok...thanks for all the help.

i don't have to pay a deposit or anything at my store but i think you have to have 5 titles to get a discount?

At the store I go to, their minimum number of titles is 5. There's no deposit. Books stay in your box for 6 weeks; after 4, they call you to make sure you're aware that your books may be put back on the shelf soon. The discounts work on a punchcard system: for every $10 you spend, you earn a stamp. Once you've spent $100, your punchcard is redeemable for $15 off anything in the store. The punchcards can be used in combination, which is how I scored a a complete set of Marvel Legends series 8 for a total of $1.33 (or something like that).
Great deals, IMO. The other stores in town have shorter waiting periods for books and only do maybe 10% off each issue, which doesn't seem worth it to me.
