But if you link to the forums what you have is a whole bunch of people who sign up to post three or four times and those posters are low quality.

Honestly, I've never seen that actually occur, at least with the "big" sites. Trolls tend to linger in specific areas, ones that are not carefully moderated, and when they're not surrounded by a close community. They're more inclined to just write whatever they please.

This is why the comments section on sites like YouTube are full of asswipes.

Having a vbulletin front end would technically allow a news poster to create a topic, and it would be posted the frontpage news section. But once you click to read more, it is shifted into the site of say whatever appropriate section it belongs to. This would then allow all the moderation you guys want. It's all automated.

But you would have to link the frontpage to the forum. And it seems to be separated by two servers. Maybe some script rewrites are needed.

Basically it would turn SHH into a vbulletin CMS. You could use those more SEO friendly features, like better URLs. Mirko probably dig that.

There is some changes I wanted to make, go into Drakon's playground and you download the image batch. Changes a few icons. Dunno if Mirko will ever catch wind of it to overwrite these images tho . Posted on his profile

BTW I haz an idea to fix up SHH's comments problem. It involves a small rewrite but no moderation. At least not the type that is a huge chore.

Do what DIGG does.

A sort of disapprove and approve function. So other users who see garbage, gives it enough thumbs down, it will "disappear" or not be seen (think of the ignore function in the forum). Hence dig and bury. Youtube employs a similar function. In essence it is a self regulating mechanism. Mirko is better off not trying to link back to the forum for SEO reasons. He wants to higher page ranks to pull teh traffic hits and teh money, no? More unique content gets you that.

Here are the minor icon changes made. I am not sure if SHH wants to change it, but if they don't this is what I had intended for the Vigilante skin after the skin was activated.

- Corrected the birthday icon border.
- And revised 2 of the 3 images there.
- Sharpened up the folder icons (new and old messages indicator)

- Took note of the shopping cart feeling "off" by some posters.
- Integrated people icons to fall more in theme with the city motif

- The infraction card revised to fall thematically with the layout. Something I completely missed out; the default looks really "off"

I am going to leave at that. I should have caught on to a few of these sooner.

That would not be difficult to do. In fact, it's possible to make the city look like it is snowing. Basically I would swap the image path of those two images, to another host like photobucket or imageshack temporarily. Then it can be reverted back. This could only be done by someone who has access to the template like Drakon, Malice or Hunter.

This new skin is quite nice but in some areas the text doesn't convert to white and stays black making it nearly impossible to read
