Suicide Squad: General Discussion and Speculation - - - - Part 13

Well, I think indications are circumstantial right now but between the eye creatures we saw, empty Midway City streets and crashed jets along with Chinooks falling out of the sky, the baddie could be assumed to be very powerful. Enchantress is the one character that fits the bill.

 

I am being sold the opposite. They obviously have the Joker so they're flaunting him, but I don't think he'll be that big of a factor. It looks like they might be doing origin flashbacks throughout the film, which I think could work really well, alongside the main plot to defeat/recruit Enchantress.

I don't think Joker is capable of completely annihilating or drastically change the planet (Deadshot's let's save the world line hints at this). I do think Enchantress is going to introduce dark magic to this world in a huge way moving forward.

 

Joker is there for flashbacks with Harley and trying to break Harley out of the SS because reasons
Enchantress is the mission
The squad has to capture her I assume so she'll be the main antagonist of sorts

It would be a waste if he's only in flashbacks.

 

I could see Joker manipulating Enchantress like he did with Harley and he becomes the main villain in the end.

 

I don't think Enchantress needs manipulating right..?

 

Well like how the Joker stole a dirty bomb in Assault on Arkham Leto's joker could manipulate the enchantress to cause Havoc all over Gotham city, thus getting both Batman and Waller concerned.

Joker doesn't have to be the main villain of this movie

i think he'll mostly be here to service harley's backstory

 

I think the Joker will have Flashbacks to when he made Harley, obviously, perhaps even how he got into prison. But I think he'll have escaped by the end of the movie. How else does Wayne get that newspaper in BvS?

 

are we sure that newspaper is from Joker? i would expect to see more than a taunting message... maybe some HA HA HAs on the newspaper...

Yep, i highly believe that false flag attacks will be one of the key themes and attack methods Lex uses on both Batman and Superman in BvS.

Maybe manipulated is the wrong word. Maybe he just gives her a goal. She's a feral being who just causing chaos, he could organize her chaos.

I couldn't disagree more. They seem to be going out of their way to promote the joker above the others. I think he will be very intricate to the story and be essentially (Batman begins reference here) Scarecrow to someone else's Ra's.. Who? We have no clue yet but I can assure you that they didn't bring the joker in just to service Quinn. She might be popular but the Joker is arguably the most popular villain in any genre of film/Comic ect. ever and they didn't bring in a character of his status to play second fiddle to a character that (Outside of the fanbase) is relatively unknown.

 

well, you may not be wrong... but i wouldn't take promo material as indicative of his prominence in the story

they are promoting him because he's a joker, and so whether his role is big or small... he'll be a box office draw

 

Doesn't the magazine article states that Enchantress will be their first mission? Because in that case, she's not the big bad, since Ayer says "there will be a surprise" when asked about that (and then he says Waller is the imediate threat).

It doesn't state that Enchantress is their goal, it atares that they have a big target and also that she is not part of Task Force X. But if you connect the dots it's possible to conclude she is their target.
