Suicide Squad: General Discussion and Speculation - - - - - Part 14

I love how badass David Ayer is. He's like Snyder's Greg Capullo.

What was it that Ayer said at the reveal of the suicide squad trailer?

"I found this on the Internet and thought you guys might like to see it"

:woot:

Just three DC movies in, Ayer appreciates the reverence to the source material and importance of getting characters right. “For me, it’s a little more than just dropping a cut scene in the end credits to link projects,” he says. “You really have to be thinking three movies downrange and how today’s movie will impact more later-cycle projects.”

But then you have people complaining a movie doesn't stand on its own because it just sets up future sequels.

Having an impact on future movies doesn't necessary mean setting up future movies.

Love that new photo. :atp:

Seems the movie will spend a good time in that federal building. The Raid with supervillains? :hmr:

And it's named after Ostrander.

Ostrander himself would be proud of the faithfulness of this film.

What if he dies, they all die? :wow:

ILY Ayer

If people are loving Ayer's little jab, then they better not get worked up the next time someone from Marvel throws some shade. Don't dish it if you can't take it.

Besides, his comment doesn't make much sense. Marvel clearly maps out their films, hence the "phases."

I really want to see Ayer and the crew (with Leto) do a Q&A at this years SDCC.

Or that it cannot be viewed independently... let's face it though, setting up for future movies hasn't done TFA any harm!:cwink:

Think Marvel have been dishing it out plenty already – and as for mapping out, not too sure they map that precisely. The MCU does come across as individual movies that are connected purely by 'after-credit' scenes... and I see no problem in that.
But if DC were to do 'after-credit' scenes can you imagine the comments then? Ayer's just telling it right IMO.

That new pic is FIRE!!! So pumped for the new trailer:). When do you guys think we'll get to see Tattooed Man in action?

It does look great (but not for Slipknot and El Diablo looking at the photo)!
And I find myself looking forward to seeing how Boomerang turns out more than any other character for some reason.

Lol slipknot. As for Diablo I enjoy him quite abit in n52, not alot of hispanic characters in most cb movies. So if he's destined to bite it I hope he goes out in a blaze of glory.

And I think Jai is going to surprise his haters with his portrayal of Boomerang :)

It's cute how you're talking like Sebastian Stan posts on the Hype. :o
