Hmmm. Have you guys even seen the movie for yourselves? Why are you writing off SS as if it's a travesty already?
I think jmc meant that they panicked when Man of Steel didn't perform at the box office like they hoped. They went for the easy cash grab adding Batman to the sequel instead of doing a Superman sequel by itself. It was a lazy decision and of course that shows in the film itself.
No way. That script was nightmarishly bad. Also most of the castings were a bit suspect.

Given the way Mad Max Fury Road ended up being I actually wish I'd seen his JL now. I was dead against it at the time but on the back of Fury Road it's going to be one of the great 'what ifs'
Isn't it a similar situation with Ayer and Fury? These guys had great movies before. Difference was Ayer jumped into the DCEU, and somehow wasn't able to keep that reception up. There's no telling how Miller's JL would've done if we're just basing it off of Fury Road, which itself is conceptually an entirely different type of movie than what any Justice League film would be.Given the way Mad Max Fury Road ended up being I actually wish I'd seen his JL now. WB did not help matters when they attempted to do the George Miller Justice League while Nolan's series was still going on. He and Bale shut that thing down in a hurry.
It was a billion dollar movie in their eyes, they even boasted publicly it was going to crack a billion.
I am not saying that's what ISS is saying but could you blame someone if they took that stance? There is only so many chances you can give before you say enough, as ridiculous as a bold stance like that might seem people are getting fed up.
As a matter of fact,I wont at all.If I was not a fan of BvS and MOS I would most absolutely not follow JL and wont even go see it in the theatres.Thats why I asked.Because frankly,it makes no sense for someone who doesnt expect anything good and thinks the movies are going to suck to follow the movie.

You know that there will be people who will and they'll annoy the hell out of the rest of us.
Its just the way it is man. Many people consider the critic reviews as a "final say" on the quality of the film, without even seeing it on their own.And I am not gonna argue the merits/demerits of that assumption.
I recognise critics reviews are important,in a way that it harnesses good will for the franchise and many see reviews to judge whether the movie is good or not.And thats fine.
But us fans should watch the movie and judge it on our own terms before claiming the sky is falling because the critics didnt like it.The audiences can still love this film and this can still be a box office hit.And thats one of if not the most important thing the studio wants, even moreso I would argue, than being a hit among critics.

Yeah it's not like people are not invested in the characters or anything, I hate Snyder Superman but you can bet your life that everytime news about it pops up I will read it because of my love for the character Superman which is bigger than Snyder or Cavill. And I guess you get curious mixed in with a bit of hope that just maybe the next outing might do it.
