does this have anything to do with the old django westerns?

I was just gonna ask that...

Damn, that first one was a good movie.

when does it release in america?...or on dvd in japan...lol

From wiki:

Sukiyaki Western: Django is an upcoming film by Takashi Miike. The film is currently in the post production stage. The movie will be filmed in Japan in the English language. The title references the cowboy film Django. Quentin Tarantino will act in the movie. Love the director but I don't like that last part.

ugh... i might as well forget about it for now.

I just finished watching Sukiyaki Western Django and I thought it was pretty damn good. You have to get used to all the actors speaking English, since I'm sure many of them don't speak it very well, but this doesn't hurt the film at all. Cinematography was very good and it had very good action. Story was good, since it seemed to be loosely based off Yojimbo. And Quentin Tarantino wasn't bad in it either. All the actors were great, despite many of them not being able to speak English clearly. So I must say a solid effort from Miike. I definitely recommend it. Much better than a lot of his recent films.

So it was actually filmed in English instead of Japenese? Why?

Isn't Yojimbo based on Django?

I don't think it is. I believe Yojimbo was released before Django. But yeah, I should of mentioned Django in my little review, because it takes more elements fromt hat film. But I was definitely seeing Yojimbo in there.

Just finished watching 'Sukiyaki Western: Django'. I see what you mean. I kinda' winced at the Tarantino part. Seemed a bit random as well as his crappy acting skills (which is saying something since the entire film is made up of actors speaking English in a Japenese movie).

Yojimbo is based on a story called "Red Harvest" :)

Let's make things complicated!
