The battles take place in an arena twice the size of a football field. The entire field of combat is surrounded by an impenetrable force shield, which can not be broken. Teleportation powers work within the arena, but cannot take a perticipant out of the arena. The only way to leave is to defeat your assigned apponent in mortal combat.

Analysis of the participants:

Conan: His strength, speed, and skill are almost without peer. He is probably the most kickass barbarian on any of the known worlds. It would take a combination of extreme skill and extreme luck to defeat him.

Wulfgar: His speed and skill are a match for any of the other 3 combatants. His size and strength outmatch even Conan and Thundarr's. His warhammer, Aegis Fang, is heavily ensorcelled and a match for any of his opponents weapons. And after sparring with the famed Drizzt Do'Urden, even a swordsman as quick and skilled as Conan would seem slow and clumsy by comparison. If he has a weakness at all it's his over developed sense of honour.

Beastmaster: His skill at the art of combat is on par with any of his opponents. He's probably a little quicker than Thundarr or even Conan, but not nearly as strong as either of them. Probably his greatest weakness is his reliance on his animal companions, who are not available to help him in this tournament.

Thundarr: His speed and strength are on par with Conan's. If he has a weakness at all, it's his reliance on his friends and his Sun Sword. Ariel and Ookla are not participating in this competition. However he will be armed with his Sun Sword. With his Sun Sword in hand, it's difficult to guage his level of skill. But as long as he has it, skill is less of an issue. The only weapon that might match this mystical weapon is the hammer Aegis Fang.

wow...between the first two pics..Wulfgar looks like a wanna-be about ready to go in over his head! (Not saying the actual character is a wuss, I just don't think that's a very imposing pic of Wulfy..wheras the Conan one is like...awesome)

Anyway...for the matches...Conan and Thundarr...(no offense to Mr. Singer..but I doubt if he has anything to bring to the party that's an equal to a sun sword)

Well that was the best pic of Wulfgar I could find on the net. To be fair, it's from the cover art from The Crystal Shard which was his first story (at which time he was only 18 years old). Though if you'd read the book you'd know he can outfight veterans twice his age. Now the character's in his thirties and even more formidable.

And you're right, of all the oponents only Wulfgar's hammer even comes close to matching Thundarr's Sunsword.

Since no one has decided to be the tie breaker, I'm going to have to make an executive decision. Without a Sunsword of his own, or a Frostbrand sword like Drizzt Do'Urden's scimitar Icingdeath, Conan just can't defend against any of Thundarr's attacks or get past Thundarr's defenses.

As much as I love Thundarr, Aegis Fang is every bit the equal of the Sunsword. So it comes down to skill and training, and you can't find a better tutor in the combative arts than Drizzt Do'Urden. Advantage: Wulfgar
