I'm planning on getting a Nintendo DS and I've been looking at Mario 64. Is it that much different from the original.

no difference, i don't think.

i think i'm gonna pick up mario 64 and a ds lite.

SM64DS is pretty good. It's actually pretty different from SM64. You start out as Yoshi and play through the worlds. You can overtime unlock Mario, Luigi, and Wario. Each guy has a special power or ability and the ! blocks all have a different effect on them. It's a very good port/remake of SM64. My only complaint is the controls. Using the D-pad is slightly difficult at some points (such as throwing Bowser) but it's pretty good overall.

Super Mario 64DS is just like 64 Classic, with the exceptions of having to find an extra 30 stars, and being able to play as Luigi, Wario, and Yoshi.

Not as good as NSMB but still pretty damn good IMO. It's a pretty long game and the graphics are good. I didn't like having to guess which character I needed for each level, I would have liked to have been able to use any of them at any time.
I'm still playing it actually.

What about Geno & Mallow

What about them? They are only in Super Mario RPG, and, if I recall, they are owned by Square-Enix.

I was at my friends yesterday, and he's really emo so he has all this Nintendo stuff (I don't know why, but emo kids LOVE Nintendo) so we're playing the DS, and there's that new Super Mario Bros. game that's really clever. You blow into the Microphone as a game mechanic. It's pretty interesting and has a lot of good ideas.

I'd buy that before I'd buy a rehashed Mario 64 for a thumbstickless system.

Why do emo kids love Nintendo?
Well, I already said I don't know why, but if I had to guess, it's just that nostalgia is an "emo"tion that is pretty strong.

I dunno... that doesnt sound very "emo." I've been trying wondering about this since I first heard that Emo Kid song. "Screw Xbox, I play old school Nintendo, I must be emo...."
