So...this thread is moot?

That's hard to say there was the splatoon thread that was made and the same thing was being done there too in the wiiu thread. Every one was talking about that in the Wii U thread and I didn't make a thread for ether cause it can't be me making threads all the time. It makes people think I want to be the only one doing so .

So it's ether someone else makes a thread or if it's being talked about there in the Wii U thread that will be the place it's talked about.

If that is what people are doing.

You made this thread , if others are willing to have it here and talk about it here, I have no problem putting the newer news updates here as well. it's up to both you and the others. I can only do so much.

Also you may want to pm Tron about fixing the title for ya.

There's no issue with creating threads about games (though if you're going to, you should at least know the name of the game in question lol), but in general, we've kept discussion of Wii U titles that aren't Zelda (since Zelda generally generates a good amount of traffic) to the Wii U thread. As you may notice, we really only have about 5 active members in the Nintendo board, so one of the reasons I personally don't start a lot of threads is because I know there won't be much activity. But, of course, you still can. There's no real rule against it, of course.

hmm ok so I'll put an article here and we'll see what happen's. no garenties

Wii U
Super Mario Maker overview trailer
Published 1 min ago. 0 comments.
Start making your own Mario stages in September.

Mario-Maker-Overview-PV.jpg

Nintendo has released a new Super Mario Maker overview video that summarizes key game features ahead of its Wii U release on September 11.
New features highlighted in the video include:

  • New sound effects and music block customization – You can create your own sound effects in Super Mario Maker, with some sounds even generating fun visuals! And by shaking a classic Note Block during level creation, it becomes a Music Block. When something activates one of these Music Blocks, it will play a note based on its height, allowing players to arrange songs of all types.
  • Ease into creation – Start creating with a set number of tools to help you learn, then watch the number of tools at your disposal expand more and more every day you play!
  • Compatible with more than 50 amiibo – Many amiibo are compatible with Super Mario Maker, including classic figures like Link, Wii Fit Trainer and Kirby. With the special 30th Anniversary Mario amiibo, you can take on mustachioed enemies in levels using Big Mario!

They really, really went all out with this.

Though, recorded sound effects sounds... risky.

Super Mario Maker Creators Already Putting Out Amiibo-Focused Levels. August 19, 2015 . 1:30pm

People are already using Super Mario Maker to show off their amiibo collections in custom levels.

Remember LittleBigPlanet? Back when the game first launched, you’d see a lot of community levels that were designed to provide immediate access to certain trophies. Sometimes, they were a means to collect instant content. There was no challenge to it, and it was all about instant gratification. Well, it’s already happened with Super Mario Maker.

One of the first features that unlocks in Super Mario Maker is Course World, which lets you see levels people have played online. You can do so one by one in the Courses or Maker section, or 8 in a row in 100 Mario Challenge.

I first realized people would be searching for favorites with Costume Mario fashion shows while trying 100 Mario Challenge. In this mode, a player gets 100 lives and must complete eight user-created levels, with the ability to choose Easy or Normal difficulty and even save your progress to resume it later. During my first run, I came across two different levels that contained a row of Question Blocks, all containing costumes.

They all had similar names, these Costume Mario amiibo levels. One was "amiibo showcase." Another was "Amiibo Power-up Party." Though I was disappointed in "ammibo costume party"’s spelling error, at least it attempted to offer an actual level, rather than a line of Question Blocks with amiibo costumes within. I can’t forget "Amiibo Costume PartySpoilers!!!!" either!

It’s a sight I knew I’d see when I’d start searching for Super Mario Maker levels, but I didn’t expect there to be so many. I thought there would be more diversity, but I suppose the ability to share supersedes creativity. Fortunately, there are a number of early themed levels that not only show off Costume amiibo, but provide an apt setting inspired by the game. "A Whole Lot of Moles" is my favorite, starring plenty of iconic Nintendo moles, since it’s a legitimately challenging gimmick level. "MiniMetroid" is another, and stands out especially since it manages to feel like Metroid before the creator, Rafa, inserted a giant Metroid made of blocks.

I guess what I’m saying is this: if you’re picking up Super Mario Maker when it comes out on September 11, expect to see a lot of early "amiibo Party" and "amiibo Costume Party" levels the first weekend as people show off their collections and attempt to place on the Star Ranking leaderboard.

Super Mario Maker Metroidvania, Bowling, and Flappy Bird Levels Appear. August 20, 2015 . 12:30pm

Super Mario Maker’s level creation tools were designed with platformers in mind, but people are already making Metroidvanias, sports games, and Flappy Bird clones.
When people think of traditional Super Mario games, they think of straightforward, 2D or 2.5D platformers. However, people are already showing that there’s a lot of freedom within Super Mario Maker. Though the level creation tools are geared toward traditional gameplay, people are using the game to experiment with other genres.
[YT]EGZ-mD53X1w[/YT]

An Austrian user named Oni has created “Metroid U” within Super Mario Maker. It is a Metroid-inspired level that actually requires a little bit of backtracking to complete.
[YT]FyIMbOODGmk[/YT]

The physics of water-based levels has allowed many people to make the Super Mario Maker equivalent of Flappy Bird, like MythosOfPlaying did above.
[YT]EjlsUFxS9wk[/YT]

Even sports-inspired levels are appearing within Super Mario Maker. A user in the UK named Dalagonash created a bowling game, complete with a signpost at the end that assigns you a “score” based on how many points you earned in the level.

Super Mario Maker is coming to the Nintendo Wii U on September 11 and will be $59.99. Tomorrow, Siliconera will go through the creation of a bullet hell-inspired level using tools unlocked from the first two days of play.

I wish people still gave a crap about Nintendo.

Maybe Nintendo should give people something worth giving a crap about.

Nintendo is still very much relevant. Just look at how well Splatoon is doing.

I wish people still gave a crap about Nintendo.

They do. 10 million people have Wii Us, near 60 million have 3DSs, Nintendo is constantly in the video gaming news for everything they do, and their first party games almost always sell well.

Posters here just don't care, because we have basically no population.

Super Mario Maker Costume Marios Have A Secret Pose. August 31, 2015 . 1:30pm

Once you get Super Mario Maker, make sure you make Mario look up whenever he’s in a new Costume Mario form.

Here’s a neat Super Mario Maker trick to keep in mind once you have and start playing the game. The costume Mario mushrooms don’t just transform Mario into a familiar character, complete with sound effects. There’s also a special pose for each outfit.

The screenshot above shows the Link Costume Mario, which is tied to the standard Link amiibo. If you press up, he’ll hold up the Triforce and you’ll hear a chime. Holding up as a Goomba makes it look as though it’s just been stomped. Think Yoshi was cuter as an egg? Hold up when playing as one to send the dinosaur back into its shell. If you’re controlling Marth Costume Mario and hold up, he’ll pose with his sword in the ground. The Wii Fit Trainer strikes another yoga pose.

Each Costume Mario outfit has its own up pose, with some of the more special ones getting additional sound bites to go with them. Unfortunately, I can’t show some of my favorites, but one of the Wave 5 amiibo and some characters starring in a winter Wii U release have some great poses.

Super Mario Maker will be released on September 11 for the Nintendo Wii U.

The Tragedy Of Early Super Mario Maker Levels. September 1, 2015 . 1:30pm

Savor all the videos and screenshots of the first few Super Mario Maker levels to appear online, because you won’t be able to play them on September 11
image: http://www.siliconera.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/2_thumb7.jpg

All of these initial Super Mario Maker levels are pretty great, right? I bet they’re the kinds of things you can’t wait to play come September 11, when the game releases on the Wii U. You may have even started bookmarking some YouTube videos and taking down level information, so you can put in these codes and start playing them immediately after the game unlocks. Here’s the thing.

You can’t.

There’s a hidden tragedy behind these Super Mario Maker levels. One people have probably noticed upon stumbling upon the Super Mario Maker (Media) Community on Miiverse may have noticed. The copy of the game people are playing for coverage isn’t exactly the same as the one everyone will have access to next week. It has different servers than the original game, so press can access the online features prior to launch.

This means, unless all of the people who have been playing Super Mario Maker now make meticulous notes, get the game after it launches, and remake all of their levels, ordinary people will never get to see it. Kocobé’s “All the costumes unlocked” troll level won’t be there unless he gets the game, and recreates it.

image: http://www.siliconera.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/3_thumb8.jpg

Which is why you should enjoy as many Super Mario Maker levels as you can now. Savor those YouTube videos. Because once the game actually launches, they’ll be memories. Instead, you’ll be able to use what you’ve seen people with early copies create as inspiration for your own levels and hopefully come up with things that are as cool, if not cooler, than the ideas that appeared prior to the official launch.

Shigeru Miyamoto Takes On A Super Mario Maker Level By Rayman Creator.September 8, 2015 . 10:00am

The level created by Michel Ancel is certain to be familiar territory for all Pac-Man fans.

[YT]2TVSu9zF0e4[/YT]
Named “PAC-Mario,” the stage boasts a setup that may be quite familiar to fans of Pac-Man. It is a score-based level that features various items, plenty of coins, and patrolling boos reminiscent of the Pac-Man ghosts.

Tezuka got a score of 18,900 on his try, while Miyamoto bested him with 29,800.

Super Mario Maker will release September 10 in Japan, in North America and Europe on September 11, and in Australia on September 12.
