In this particular case, I don't care if it makes sense. It's hot.

Since she will most likely wearing the costume half the time, I think it's best to give her pants or skirt/leggings combo since Melissa would probably be cold half the time in anything else. But i want her NEW52 cape/crest.

He sure could. Almost seven years now since he passed. :(

Love it! (I didn't notice the spoiler tag first time through)

I almost cried when he died. He was one of the best at drawing Superman and the super family

agreed. Turner's Supergirl is "my" Supergirl in terms of looks. his Supergirl just has this joyous, youthful innocence about her.

yep. and hopefully that aspect of the character is captured in Melissa's portrayal of Kara.

as for the costume, I'll be happy as long as it retains the classic Super color scheme of Red, Blue, and Yellow.

and, I want it to look practical and functional. sexy yet not skimpy.

Yeah, make it practical...it doesn't need to be ****y and have all her junk out there for the world to see. But it does need to be sexy. I'd like for it to look very much like the Turner version. A midriff showing suit and a skirt. And as you said, it needs to retain the classic color scheme. I just hope she doesn't wear a tshirt, shorts and a jacket.

Give me a live-action version of the New 52 suit or a variation thereof, and I'll be a happy camper.

Alternatively, a more modernized version of Helen Slater's 'classic' suit from the '84 Supergirl film would be cool to see.

I definitely don't want anything approaching the Animated Kara, Power Girl, or midriff-baring skirt costumes, as they would either look completely ridiculous and impractical or blatantly demeaning.

the one thing I don't like about the New 52 costume is the bare legs. it just doesn't strike me as practical.

the rest of of her body is covered in the "armor" except her thighs and legs........yeah.........

It never even crossed my mind that her legs were mostly bare in the original New 52 costume design, but there are ways to get around that in live-action (such as having her wear skin-colored leotards or leggings).

Alternatively, they could go with something similar to her new NEW New 52 costume, albeit in leather or spandex rather than armored plating.

^ Love this one. I like the way the red coat gives off the effect of the cape. That second one is pretty cool, too.
The second one is nice, just add a cape to it.

3rd on the right for sure. That would read well in live action, I think.

Maybe the fourth too. I wouldn't mind the white tee to start with, but I don't think that will happen. They're bringing Colleen Atwood in, that means they're putting a legit costume together.

So yeah, third on the right for me.

I think that the midriff/skirt could have worked IF she were still a teenager on this show. But she's not, she's in her mid-20's. So I don't think that they should go with that, it doesn't really fit.

This one looks awesome overall. I'd probably add a little more red and yellow, and maybe lighten the colors up a bit. But as an actual design, it's great imo.

The third and fourth images come the closest to what I'd like to see, but aren't quite there.

I was dreading this thread, since I knew I'd have to contend with the usual "She needs to wear pants" crowd. Hopefully TPTB pay as much attention to them as the BVS producers did.

I say the classic "Helen Slater" style with some "modern" fabrics and so forth is the only way to go.
