I think Berlanti has already stated that Supergirl would not be crossing over with Arrow and The Flash

Wrong. What was said is that there are currently no active plans to develop crossovers between the three series. The three series could still take place in the same universe without having to actively crossover.

because Superman doesn't exist in the world of Arrow and Flash, whereas he will in Supergirl.

There is absolutely nothing about the Arrow/Flash universe that would preclude Superman and Supergirl existing in it.

Hmm. I don't know what I think of Melissa Benoist as Kara. I have to see more of her, but I was expecting something else. Maybe someone a little more innocent. I hope she covers up her 3 tattoos as I don't know why Kara would have a bicycle tattoo on her ankle or a wolf on her wrist. She reminds me a bit more of Katie Cassidy than Kara.

Also, how did the previous thread get up to 54 pages? I thought they automatically close at 41.

For some reason, Supergirl had two separate threads in two separate forums. I guess they got merged into one - which was so large it was immediately locked. Then, as per usual, a second one was opened.

And already there are now two Melissa Benoist IS Supergirl threads lol.

Given that I don't recall Puritan Man being one of Supergirl's villains, if the discussion could be moved toward the show and its particulars... that would be great.

It'll be nice to have a female-led superhero show for a change, assuming this gets a full season. Just hope it'll be good.

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm really excited about the possibilities inherent in telling Supergirl's story as a Serialized Procedural in the vein of Person of Interest and/or Elementary. I still haven't quite figured out how they're going to mesh/blend that format with Kara being a personal assistant to Cat Grant, but that uncertainty is a good thing because it increases my excitement level since I can't wait to see what they do and how they make it work.

Was that directed to me??? I missed something....

So, the Hype has finally fusion the threads and even created a Supergirl forum, bravo! :applaud

(hopefully, it won't take that long next time) ;)

I expect a better quality suit than the one from the Flash, people are going to compare it to the movies, so it better look good! Faora's suit was great, they should take some inspiration from it, so no skirt! Admit it people, the skirt is not practical, is just sexy and that's why some fanboys love it.

second one is wearing biker shorts under the skirt

Melissa Benoist is just wrong on so many levels. Why are casting directors so afraid to cast female superheroes who look like the character? Hopefully the pilot won't get picked up and the role will be recast with someone like Aimee Teegarden.

Aimee Teegarden is fine...but I think Melissa Benoist is going to do good in the role

I think they may be looking for some other qualities aside from the look. Though Teegarten does eerily look like the Kara artwork.

Benoist's casting says to me this isn't even going to be a superhero show. I'm sure they're doing the typical "Ally McBeal" girl in the big city looking for romance crap. Maybe she'll warm up her coffee with heat vision from time to time.

Well it's only a matter of time before filming starts I'd imagine so we will know soon enough

Melissa will look fine as Kara, at least they are keeping her blonde and not making her brunette to fit the actress. Not to mention, there are A LOT of variations of the character so anyone can look like her.

I will hold off judgment on her acting of course till we see it since she wasn't written that well in Glee anyway.

And here we go again with the hair color crap. :cmad:

Again, for the millionth time, most people don't care! Many bashed Grant Gustin for not being blonde, too skinny, etc... now no one gives a freaking crap because he's good in the role. Same thing will happen with Ezra Miller and Jason Momoa if they're good. Some fans need to learn to be more rational with these things instead of being so obsessive for nothing.

Back on the suit, maybe is going to look similar to the one from the Smallville comics (better than the awful New 52 crotch patch), but with a cape:

Plus we know Benoist has dyed her hair blonde anyway

This.

As for what suit I prefer, I'm going to be unapologetic and ask for this:

Bring me a blonde Superman or Batman or Wonder Woman, then we will talk about how people don't care. Or how fans HATED every single one of these superhero castings. It happens, we will complain until we learn to love the actor who suits up in the role.

But I hope they keep the New52 cape, that is the one thing I like about her 52 suit.
