That doesn't tell me anything.

A. Yep.
lol it's the chyler Danvers thread . since there wasn't an a b or c listed in you posted question it was just where should we post? and tney you said the name in another question . I said yep cause it addressed the latter but I should have specified.

I said the Chyler Danvers thread or this thread - in other words, a choice between two.

But there's the changes for season 3 thread to discuss it in now anyway.

yeah i'm aware there's not to worry about any more .

This show started out promising, but I do not want to see a) two women making out in every episode, b) a lot of unhinged political commentary (you can do it if it's funny, but only Calista gets close to being humorous and her appearances are limited), and c) a constant diet of "men are incompetent/patronizing/swooning, Bill Nye wannabe wimpsocks". No one in our family even wanted to see the final four episodes of this season. The show runners may think this is entertaining, but it's really just patronizing. Adieu, Supergirl. Time for you to go.

You might want to find a message board that is more your style. This one isn't for you. We respect our LGBT community here.

The fact your first 'complaint' was about the 'Sanvers' relationship...

What in my remarks was disrespectful?

Lets just say your first two posts on this site have within them the idea that you don't really see a need for the LGBT community to be represented in a series being a couple. That infers a disrespect, and here we respect them as individuals no matter who they love or choose to kiss.

So, you would have been ok if that was second or third on the list? My point is the show is no longer entertaining. And, yes, that is one of the reasons - among many.

Check out the ratings. Supergirl has lost a third of its audience this season, and the last 5 episodes are the worst rated (http://tvseriesfinale.com/tv-show/supergirl-season-two-ratings/).

To complain at all is enough of a sign, but the need to put it first, to make it the most important issue you have with the show is a big signal.

Most of the ratings mess is down to the ****tier side of the fandoms for the show IMHO. I've personally seen a number of people walking away from the show because Kara's not ****ing Lena.

I think you mean "implies" not "infers". And it does not. One can respect an individual even if one does not necessarily approve of their behavior.

BTW, I also prefer not to see two heterosexual individuals making out in every episode. We get the point. No sledgehammer needed.

"To complain at all is enough of a sign." There ya go. Now we're being honest. You have conflated dissent with disrespect.

No, actually I used the word I meant to.

I'm looking forward to next season since it looks like they are going to be using "Reign" and the World Killers as one of the big baddies....

Kara should know who these people are from her time on Krypton.

In all kinds of popular entertainment, some fans always try to make the argument that being inclusive of something like a gay romantic relationship will turn off part of the audience.

I don't see any reason to believe that is the case, generally speaking, since for every individual who doesn't want to see lesbians kissing (for example), there is potentially one, or more than one, who is happy to see the show (or the movie or the game, or whatever) be more inclusive.

I do think that season 2, especially the middle of the season, was a very mixed bag in terms of quality, but portraying a lesbian couple is certainly not the root cause of that.

If some viewers don't like seeing that, and want to stop watching the show because of that, then fine. I will not mourn their departure.

You are correct, I was speaking more of "me" making an inference rather than you simply implying your homophobic views.
I'm not surprised that you have conflated dissent with fear as well. To be fair, it's a common and pretty much accepted tactic. But it is a tactic (see ad hominem attack), not an honest striving for truth. This is ironic (and amusing) in a Supergirl forum (truth, justice, etc.). :)

So, as long as we're talking morality (since you've implied that I am "bad" for voicing objections to depictions of homosexuality), you might want to consider the merits of defending the portrayal of promiscuous sexual relations between 2 people (of whatever stripe) in a show that appeals largely to children.

You don't like seeing a gay relationship portrayed on a show like this, which some would see as simple bigotry, and others as heroic dissent against the stifling influence of PC culture being forced upon us by liberal elites, such as the Supergirl writers and producers.

Yes, yes. These are the times we live in.

Kids have less trouble with with those who are gay/lesbian, it's the grownups that has the problem with it
