That is why I want them to use their CGI $$$$$$$$$ on Supergirl and her villains...not a Batman wannabe that isn't needed.

Wasn't the mask just to cover the part of Henshaw's face that Supergirl burned off in the episode "The Darkest Places"? I don't think it was intended as a disguise or battle armor.
More like the mask Dr. Poison wore in the Wonder Woman movie. Something to hide the ugly part. Not sure why it would need to be fancy.

Didn't she burn off his face and the "cyborg" was underneath?

Still, at least make the covering not look like crap. If they have the budget to build a high-tech cyborg then they should be able to make an equally high quality covering.

It still is. It's just cheaper and faster to stick a mask on David than to have to fit a prosthetic or CGI on David every time he is Henshaw. And the prosthetic or CGI, however they did it, doesn't really look that much better.

Yeah, and he wears the mask to cover his innards. It's basically a glorified dust cover, lol.

The actual "cyborg" bit underneath the mask has been 100% CGI whenever they've shown it.

LOL, I guess. I don't think David has a big hole in his head.

The bad thing about using the plate most of the time is that's more memorable than the CG underneath. So when you think of Henshaw it's more with the cheesy face plate.

Cyborg Superman is always going to come off a bit goofy looking no matter how good the prosthetics or CGI are. I'd imagine they spent a lot of time and money on Red Tornado and people laughed at that.
So they probably decided that as long as Hank looked different than J'onn when they were in scenes together that was good enough.

I think they canned the Cyborg Superman idea when Kara says "You may be a Cyborg, but you are no Superman" and then in a later episode, called him "R2"....lol

Hank Henshaw was still Cyborg Superman in the comic books though, so if he pops up again in season three Hank is probably going to continue using that moniker.
Zor-El is now Cyborg Superman in the Supergirl comic books, and so more closely tied to Supergirl, but I doubt they will go there.

It was interesting to hear how David now dislikes playing the character. In a previous interview he had said,

"Hank Henshaw ends up becoming Cyborg Superman in the comics, battling Superman. So I'm looking forward to that. He's a bit of a supervillain. He seems pretty indestructible.
Which I kind of like because I keep getting blown up in these things. I'm kind of looking forward to being indestructible."

Which the character is. Wonder what soured him on the character?

I'd like it if they brought Zor-El as CS into the show.

He could be a mystery character at first, hunting for Kara to 'protect' her, and comes up against Henshaw. Henshaw is still calling himself Cyborg Superman, which intrigues Zor-El, who then kills Henshaw and then goes seeking these supers.

After encountering Kara we find out that Brainiac turned him into a cyborg and he takes on the name Cyborg Superman, and that he intends to sacrifice Earth in order to bring Krypton back from destruction.

It's actually the H'ell arc, but with Zor-El instead of H'ell. It could also be used as a crossover for all four shows.

Speaking of Cyborg Superman, David Harewood feels he is boring to play and would choose Martian Manhunter over him.

Good thing he's both then. I would much rather he played MM as well.

It's pretty clear what soured him to the character, everything about him is cheap. Costume is cheap, storyline is cheap. They put no work into Hank Henshaw which is Davids problem. He is just there to be a lackey and has no personality. He doesn't want to play a one-note character.

Well really, he's already MM and Hank, might be time to get rid of Cyborg Superman. Glad David was honest with the little girl.

They should just have Henshaw be absent until the next time Superman appears, Save their FX money up for a big fight where we get to see more of the actual Cyborg skeleton and have him get destroyed for good battling Superman and Supergirl.

I think that would be great. Maybe they can use that as the theme for season four.

I don't blame Harewood for that one as they dropped the ball on Cyborg Superman. I guess this could open doors for Kara's father to be the 2nd Cyborg Superman like in the current comics.

This video made me think of your comment

There's nothing wrong with shipping but being nasty only leaves this kind of impression.

On the subject of costumes, is Supergirl the only superhero on the CW that wears a skirt as part of the costume. I am trying to think of any other ones. Everybody else seems to either wear pants or some sort of jumper.
In fact of all the live action characters DC, I think Wonder Woman is the only other one that wears a skirt now. And even she wore shorts previously. Do any Marvel characters wear a skirt as part of their costume either?
