Here's the trailer we'll be getting over here:

Not bad, it's very similar to the short trailer we got here...

Has anyone else noticed that they changed the music at the end of the trailer? It used to be "This is my fight song" and now it is something else.

Some kind of licensing issue?

Yeah seems so. Since the trailer went viral, they probably couldn't pay Rachel Platten...

I saw the pilot episode. Don't ask how though. I have mixed feelings on the show much like I did when I saw the trailer. Now I won't ruin the pilot for any one who hasn't seen it but let me give you my thoughts on the future of Supergirl. I think the show is going to have a rough start.

The writing is rough would be the best way of describing it. In one hand you want to like the show because the idea is there just the writing is kind bad. The show is great if you're a 13 year old girl who knows nothing about Superman or Supergirl. If this show has any hope making it beyond it's first 13 episodes it's going to have to mature a lot more in terms of it's writing.

My personal feeling after watching the pilot is that it won't get through 13 episodes before the show is canceled. While the idea is there it just feels like it was written for 13 year old girls and not for people of all different age levels. By now most if not all the 13 episodes have all ready been written so it would take to much time for them to really step it up a notch and improve it before it got canceled due to poor ratings.

This is just my opinion any way.

It's already been ordered for the full 20-something. So it's already cleared it's first 13 episodes.

No, CBS has only ordered 13 episodes, and once things get going then they will probably add the 9 remaining.

As far as written to 13 year olds....I just didn't see that. The pilot was definitely a woman positive superhero series, but so what....it's about time. IMO, it was written for that important 13 -- 18 demographic yes....but more importantly the 18 -- 49 female demographic, and apparently the advertisers thought the same thing at CBS' Upfront because they were all over the trailer, and the advertisers want that 18 -- 49 female demographic hit because that is who buys their products.

Everyone certainly can have their opinion, but the Upfront adverts and the trending just do not play out the "it looks like it was written to 13 year olds" thinking.

Sorry I could explain why I feel way I do in detail but would rather not as not spoil the pilot for those who haven't seen it. The problem wasn't that it was a good positive female Super hero. The problem was that the show lack any kind of maturity. In fact the show was predictable and almost cliche if you will.

As I said its really hard to explain my position because I'm trying not to spoil the pilot for any one who hasn't seen it. I don't think it's a horrible show by any stretch of the imagination. What I fear is that the general public will be turned off of it due to the writing which again is predictable and cliche. By the time the writers can get in there and fix that it will be to late.

Now don't get me wrong I don't hate the show buy any stretch of the imagination. I just think it could be better. I will watch the show when it comes out and hope that I am wrong.

One thing I will note pilots in my opinion are always rough around the edges. Some times you get really great pilots but more times then not they are rough around the edges. It usually takes several episodes if not a full season to work out the rough edges. I hope that is the case with Supergirl. I hope they get that chance because I do see what it could be given the chance.

I don't think this pilot was any worse than the Arrow or Flash pilots. They all had their cheesy moments and cliched writing. But I think it has a lot of potential like those did.

I don't either, in fact, it gave me the same vibe as those two pilots. I'm excited that we are getting a more upbeat superhero series like Flash, I've really enjoyed that series as I make my way through its first season, and I'm very excited about the Supergirl series for the same reason. :)

Yeah, I too am glad it's more Flash than Arrow for sure.

Definitely felt the Flash vibe. Melissa persona for Supergirl is perfect.

Making Supergirl like Arrow would be too much like the grim tone of Man of Steel.

I like the humaness of Superman in the Man of Steel though, that was what really drew me to that movie, and had me wanting to see it again and again. So, I'm glad that the writers as well as Melissa herself want to see that in Supergirl. To me that makes the relationships so much stronger and more interesting to watch.

Going by the Pilot, which I obviously haven't seen :-)D), I think it is slightly more cheesy than Flash and the writing plays much more fast and loose. Considering that, I'd say it has a tone unto it's own, significantly different from both Flash and (more obviously) Arrow.

What pilot..... :cwink:

Rewatching JLU and they should really adapt Kara's arc from the first season if this show lives long enough.

From the TV Guide Comic Con special issue:

thank you to www.Supergirl.tv for their "all things supergirl" info.
