I'm guessing they'll be the two hooded figures looking for Mon-El.

Good grief, people on twitter are going totally ape **** over this pic.... LOL

One of the posters, I can't remember her name.....went totally off on the poor guy that posted this on twitter. These people are weird....

I'm thinking with Sorbo's description...... he doesn't quite understand just how spoilerish he actually was....or maybe he does.

Why? It's not the best of compositions but it just looks like a standard promotional shot to me.

Well, let me put it this way.

There is a group of people out there that would love for Kara to be with Lena. They want diversity...... hmmmm... anyway, They are very LOUD, very RUDE, and very UM, CREATIVE when making their own copies of this pic. It is absolutely CRAZY. I MEAN WEIRD.

It actually is really sad, that a show that has shown so much positivity is being trashed like hell over a stupid picture. They are letting the shows twitter feed have it right now. :(

I just stopped reading... :( Way too much negative for me.

Wow, this was not the answer I was expecting, where the hell did the Lena and Kara thing come from? Kara has been shown as straight from the start and the show has a Lesbian relationship very much at the center this season so it's hardly ignoring diversity.

Whelp.....that is what is going on....and some of the pics are pretty ridiculous, some I couldn't even post on here.

So disrespectful of these actors...

I think it's a cool looking pic. Love the tag-line, 'super complicated.'

And some of these people need to take a horse-sized chill-pill. That or Twitter and/or Facebook should be erased from the internet.

Well, it is pretty much Season 2 Shipper fans, those that I know that are fans since Season 1 ep 1 are just fine with Mon-El.... Sometimes I have to just shake my head.

Things like this are why I avoid Twitter, Tumblr, Facebook etc, lol.

I mean, I do cringe a little bit at the poster's focus on the heroine's relationship status, but then I remember it's for the freakin' Valentine's Day episode and it doesn't bother me.

Have you seen some of the Tumblr pages? Some take GIFs of Lena/Katie McGrath and Kara/Melissa Benoist and add their own dialogue.

Indeed. I'd probably stay away from the Supergirl FB pages for a while. A number of fans are particularly nasty when it comes to the Karamel, Sanvers, or James/Kara ships.

Well considering Kara is dating a piece of wood, can you really blame them? :o

On a serious note. This is the problem when the writing makes the only worthwhile relationship between the characters Kara isn't actually spending the majority of her time with. The male love interest are super bland and the relationships cliched. There is far more life to Kara's scenes with her female co-stars. So when one who she could "reasonably" date, this can happen. This kind of behavior is over the top and childish. But I would be lying if I said I didn't prefer Kara be with Lena. A good actress who actually injects life into her scenes.

I agree about McGrath, but not about Wood (neither of whom I've ever seen before this show). Regardless of how clichéd this romance is being written, to me he's got far more personality/charm than James/Winn/Adam combined. And actual comic timing.

Honestly, I get where the Kara/Lena people are coming from, because I noticed during my rewatch over the holidays that they do seem to have some...interesting chemistry (basically Lena seems awfully flirty with Kara in just about all their scenes and Melissa constantly responds to it with bashful smiles, lol), but I don't get anyone actually hoping/expecting it to become a reality - the show has made it crystal clear that Kara is not gay. One gay Danvers sister is all they'll get. And let's be real, even if the writers wanted to, DC wouldn't let them alter the sexual-orientation of one of their marquee heroines, either.

I don't disagree that her love interests have been pretty bland so far, but Kara's going to have a male love interest whether people like it or not. Eventually, I hope to see Brainiac 5 in that role, but I'll take Mon-El for now. At least I find he has more chemistry with her than her previous love interests (not that that says a lot, lol). But either way, the behavior Kelly's describing from the "shippers" is beyond OTT and ridiculous.

You haven't seen Jurassic World FC? Or did you forget seeing her in it? It was blink and you kind of miss it outside of one scene.

Kara's love life is what I think would have happened on Arrow if Ollie and Laurel actually got together. Like, why are they together? Or watching the Hawk duos dance. Except in this case I really do like Kara, so it annoys me more.

And yeah being cliched is one thing, but if you are going to do that, I think you need a really likable character. Patty was a cliche on the Flash, but I adored her. She had a great, infectious energy that has been missing from the show in general since Barry has gotten more and more down and anxious.

I have zero problems with Kara having a male, female or alien of a different species love interest. I just want there to be something interesting. I guess Daredevil and iZombie ruined these situations for me. Matt and Liv have had more interesting romances in two seasons each then all the other superhero shows combined. Maybe because they are actual characters and not just love interest.

I did see her in that. I just wasn't counting it because literally the only thing I remember about her character was her ludicrous death, lol.

Mon-El's plenty likable to me - as I mentioned, the fish-out-of-water comic timing helps. I find his antics far more amusing/enjoyable to watch than I've ever found Winn's "humor." Patty didn't get a very good reception on the Flash as I recall, but I liked her too. Oh well. Matt/Elektra is iconic for a reason and I don't expect any Supergirl romance to live up to that, but Matt/Karen interests me about as little as any of Kara's romances, lol. Can't speak on iZombie, as it's still on my to-watch list.

I totally disagree, her scenes with Mon-El have been a highlight for me this season. The chemistry is there for sure...wanting Kara with one of the ladies just isn't going to happen, she's straight no matter how some wish every character on the show is gay. ;) And I know some are just playing around, they aren't a big deal, but some are down right rude...if I ever replied to one of their posts on twitter with... "Why would Kara and Lena have a poster like that, she's straight" HOLY CRAP, the wrath would come upon me. BTW, I didn't reply with that.....lol aaaand they get mad about the screen time Mon-El gets.....well, if your character is the love interest of the star of the show, you are going to get more screen time. Just kinda how it goes....I didn't reply with that either. They skur me.

I don't want every character to be gay. They should keep Kara straight. If they wanted her to be lesbian, then they should've kept Chyler straight. I don't want this to turn into a superhero version of the L Word. That would just shift the focus off what the show is supposed to be about and turn into something completely different.

If there were a superhero version of the L Word, that's fine, but that's not what I signed up for with Supergirl, and that's not what anyone expects to see except for maybe Tumblr shippers. BTW, if Supergirl were just a superhero version of the L Word, I probably wouldn't watch it, because I found that show boring and doesn't appeal to me.

I personally didn't care for the Matt/Elektra dynamic on a romantic level in DD season 2 and I actually liked Karen's dynamic with Frank better than with Matt, but I loved Patty on the Flash, Shantel definitely had the most chemistry with Grant Gustin but the hardcore fanboys were on her from the jump as they wanted the Iris cannon to be followed.

Agreed, Kara and Mon-El has been really nicely played between Melissa and Wood, their chemistry is the best of the romantic relationships they've dabbled with on the show so far IMO.

They ship Kara/Lena because Benoist and McGrath has really good chemistry. And people extrapolate from there, as frequently happens.

Also I've heard some people be annoyed that they broke up the interracial romance (very awkwardly/rushed imo), only to make her new LI the "handsome white guy."

Honestly I'm getting a little annoyed of Kara being the only one on the show who cannot get any kind of stable romance (if they want romance). It's like they're afraid that going all the way with it/pairing her up for real will "ruin" her or "make her less pure" or some other such nonsense.

the only issue for me is that they want Supergirl to be a strong, independent (from Superman at least) heroine... Yet S1, they spent half the season with her pining over James... and then almost immediately switched to Mon-El in S2. the way they dropped the Jimmy angle was badly done IMHO.

If Woods is a single season character, then I think next year they shouldn't try and hook Kara with anyone. give her a season to be Kara/Supergirl rather than running around trying to be someone's.... something.

and I agree with Loki, people ship 'SuperCorp' for the same reason they ship 'SuperCat' (And 'Kalex') ... because Melissa Benoist has an ability to create good, natural chemistry with anyone she's acting against. Her and Katie's on screen chemistry is very relaxed... doesn't feel forced at all (Same for Melissa & Chyler TBH)

I really hope we get this. Mon-El's one of the biggest things dragging season 2 down for me, because I feel it's been rubbing off poorly on her and it's made me enjoy her scenes less, despite thinking Benoist is pretty perfect for the role. It's fine to develop a character through a romantic relationship, like they've done well with Alex and Maggie (despite issues I have with the latter character), but that was one that led to introspection, to Alex figuring out things about herself. With Kara and Mon-El, it's all about him. It's all about his development, while she's just there to move it along. I find it weird how I was rather impressed with most of how they handled the Alex and Maggie stuff (at least before the break, standard CW drama started to seep in towards the end and seems to be becoming more prevalent there), and yet I think they've completely dropped the ball here. That's ignoring how I feel about Mon-El himself, which is...I think the actor's surname is pretty accurate. But I just wish that we had more for Kara to do as a character. Considering we've not gotten much of her and Alex, or her and J'onn, it's mostly just her and Mon-El most of the time, I think it's a shame that her story is entirely revolving around him and his arc, without her own journey that the season could center on. I think it would have been better for her character if the person in the pod was much younger, and Kara had been given essentially a chance to do what she was sent here to do in the first place, but that's just me.

These writers seem to do supporting characters romance much better than main character ones. Overall, I've found Alex/Maggie to be pretty good. Laurel/Tommy was decent, as was Caitlin/Ronnie, and so on. Heck even Oliver and Barry seem to do better when they're paired up with character who AREN'T their "destined" loves (although Barry/Iris has been better written than I expected this season, so I'll give them that much).

As for Kara, I don't have a problem with her having a LI as long as it's decently written and not ALL that she's about.

I feel like there's this idea in Hollywood (and amongst some fans as well) that a female character cannot be "strong and independent" if she has a LI. And that's not true, it all depends on the writing. Kara could have a LI and still be strong and independent. It's not essential, but it's not a problem in an of itself.

And given that, out of all the DCCW main heroes, she's the one that hasn't gotten at least an arc with a true LI, it sticks out (and not in a good way).

Another reason I don't want Kara with Lena is that this will just feel like a Tumblr show or fan fiction.

These shows already feel like that when it comes to their inter-personal relationships a lot of the time. I don't really see the idea of Kara/Lena as all that more so in that regard honestly.

Agreed on both counts.

Whaaaa...? Please excuse me while I bleach my brain.
