Supergirl,... Just Because [merged]

You too?? LoL! This New 52 Superman just does not inspire. To me, he seems to have lost his "nobility"......that thing that made him "The guy"....."Big Blue", as they use to call him Pre-Flashpoint. The alien looking armor......his hovering over his teammates of the JL, when they are together. His Clark Kent seeming like a begging puppy dog with Lois and his being unkempt and shaggy all the time. I guess wearing a suit is just not the "thing" anymore??? Really?

Superman is just not Superman anymore....

I am intrigued by the H'el storyline.....I always wondered why Krypton had no space program. So this creepy dude is a Kryptonian astronaut....and obviously he picked up these extra powers while tumbling thru space exposed to cosmic rays and other radiation....then the big yellow Sun.

They've brought me back for this, at least.

 

yeah. and I must admit, the last 2 issues of Superman have got me interested again in the book. I love the artwork, and the way they draw Kara in the Superman book........ she looks better than in her own book.

Superboy.......I hate the artwork. The one issue where Kara appeared, she looked like a man!!!

and the story in Superboy........not very interesting......until this H'El business.

Action Comics........I just could not get into this one. so I dropped this one completely.

Teen Titans........sucked.

I do miss pre-52 Kara and Superman, though..........

 

Just when they hit something funny with kara interacting with damon they go and ruin it. Plus establishing her friendship with Stephanie B/batgirl, and cassie/wonder girl. I miss all those things.

 

I know what you mean. This Supergirl just seems very irrational. What does Kal have to do for her to see that he's her cousin??? She takes to the creepy scarfaced due who's about to snap Superboy's neck. But she rejects Kal???

Well....her mom did kill her dad.....so maybe she's nuts too.

 

yeah, I do miss the old Supergirl.

we'll see what happens once this H'El storyline passes over. if she's still so distrustful of Clark, and unwilling to "accept" her new home on Earth, I'm not sure how much longer I can stay interested. the last issue of Supergirl basically said she knows Clark is telling the truth, she just doesn't want to quite accept it yet.........

indeed, the parts I enjoyed the most so far were the moment where Kara IS trying to adopt Earth culture. like when she finally changed out of her suit and wore regular clothes and went out with Sioban and her brother to just have fun.

now that Kara can speak/understand English, perhaps she will make more of an effort to get to know Earth culture, once the H'El story is over.......

or like that time when she was in the club with Sioban and that guy was hitting on her.

she understands English now, so it will be interesting to see how she reacts in situations like those now.

I do like "Sanctuary" .......she's got her own Fortress of Solitude.

However, having it on the ocean floor is not a good idea for someone who needs sun radiation. She can't stay down there too long.

 

not to mention you'd have to get all wet every time you'd want to retire to your fortress........

 

I guess they solved that problem with her radiating that heat shield thing? Remember when she concentrated and discovered she wasn't "wet" anymore??

 

Have to say I like the alt. costumes they designed for the 52boot then the one we actually got

Aah! SO lovely! I love the bottom two. I think the bottom left would have worked best! I always enjoyed how her costume was just...'her'. It was cute, and teen-like which was what Kara wanted to be. Not some ridiculous Kryptonian leotard she has now.
