Supergirl Supergirl Season 1 Episode 14 -"Truth, Justice and the American Way". MAJOR SPOILERS

RE: Sneak Peek #1

Did Alex and Hank sort of allude to Lobo in their discussion about Master Jailer (I mean, what other intergalactic bounty hunter is there in the DC verse)?

This should be a good episode after looking at those clips.

So I saw over at comicbook.com earlier a author there thinks Lobo is refrenced and could possibly exist in supergirl universe. Would any one want to see lobo. If so what version would you like to see.

Maybe.....

You gotta give these guys credit.
They are all over Supergirls history.

A less cartoony version than the one from STAS.

personally if we ever do get to see lobo on screen i really hope they wouldnt go with the stupid new 52 look and take on the guy. I always loved the orignal better.

I am a fencesitter on the Main Man showing up. He's a bit raunchy for a show in which most episodes have been rated TV-14, not that anyone cares about these phony ratings anyway.

Siobhan Smythe? Silver Banshee.....

This episode feels like the trailers to Batman vs. Superman. I suspect the Master Jailer fits in thematically when we find out his motivation.

ETA: How do bullets hitting kevlar vests knock people unconscious? It's not the only one to do that, but it doesn't make sense.

Also, damn, Krypton's got more punitive laws than the United States.

She hit her head, didn't you see her holding the side of her head when she woke up?

Mine is probably an unpopular opinion, but I REALLY disliked tonights episode of Supergirl. Definitely loved the Master Jailer and Italia Ricci, but I thought the episode was riddled with character inconsistencies.

Jimmy being pro-Maxwell Lord, Cat being petty and hiring a new assistant out of spite, Kara holding onto her grudge against MM. I go into detail at the link below.

I didn't see James being pro max at all I saw James being pro justice being given in the right way what Alex did was wrong plain and simple the end doesn't necessarily justify the means in this case.

I think there were some things wrong with this episode....mostly editing for me. I have to disagree with you on the inconsistencies....imo they were as they should be.... Cat will be shown the way...probably with KARA saving her ass for....oooh a 3rd time....the disconnect with Jonn is leading to a bomb with Alex...and as I stated above, Alex isn't pro Max in the least.

I think you completely missed the point of what James was trying to do.

I also don't see how Cat and Kara's behavior is out-of-character in any way.

While the episode's Fort Rozz/Kara's view of justice story I found to be pretty good, Kara did seem to come off a bit unlikable for me at least at some parts of the episode. I felt Cat was perfectly justified in her behavior, and Jimmy's position wasn't an issue for me though the love traingle stuff with him is getting tiresome.

I'm hoping that number one keeps looking at Jimmy because she's trying to get the dirt on everyone as opposed to the showrunners attempting to bring in yet another potential woman chasing Jimmy , which given their past work, I wouldn't put it past them.

Kara's anger at MM, while understandable, is getting very old really fast , which I think for me has more to do with how they executed it.

So for me , all in all the main story about Kara and Fort Rozz and Jimmy's opposition was great , but its the other stuff which really didn't work for me. It was a step back from the last episode in alot of ways but the main story of the week was pretty good.

correct. I kinda feel the same way as james to a degree.

oh BTw even though I was happy with what alex did I hope she get put inthe right again . hmm after tonight episode too I thing the deo and alex specifically should use that master jailer armor and gear I think it's make it easier for her to have chose in capturing (I don't mean her using that tech guillotine. I'm not for that ) Aleins and have leathal force as a last resort

yeah I'm aware she was saving hank but some how I think all she had to do was use that machete laced with kryptonite and cut astra's arm a little (not off) to stop her from killing hank as well .

ether way she was saving hank/ J'onn from being killed and it made sense to a degree but that situation it's hard to with it.

It was ok but Olsen wants to tell Lucy, hell no! It was not so long ago she was asking him what he thought about her taking the job and he was saying, "Whatever you want, what makes you happy, it's your decision" and she kept going at him until she gets something she decides to blow up at.

By the way, Lexi Alexander posted this rather fun picture at her Twitter.

We may have had some fun on that set

"May" is an understatement!

Folks, meet three girls who would make Leia look WEAK! Never has being a geek been so sexy and so chic.

USE THE FORCE, KARA! (Sorry couldn't help myself!)

Speaking of which… Are we to assume that Kara killed Master Jailer? That doesn’t appear likely - since this episode's themes were justice, due process, people with power not exceeding their authority, etc. (hence, the release of Lord). Yet as shot and edited, the climactic moment between Kara and Master Jailer seemed… “final.”

I was wondering that same exact thing....I can only say.... "I hope not". I want to see them fight again.

Positives and Negatives....

Negatives first...

1. As I stated, wasn't too keen on the editing, ex: How did the MJ actually capture Kara, that was either simply not filmed, or cut....either way, we should have seen that.

2. Not really anything to do with filming, acting, etc....just getting really tired of James' wishy washy thought process, BUT, whatever his decision, I do not want him with Kara.

3. Back to editing, just saw a couple of glitches in this episode due to a cut here and there...just not all around "smooth".

Positives

1. Good grief, that fight (MJ vs. SG) was a thing of beauty...

2. Loving Chyler's portrayal of Alex and the anguish she is showing at not telling Kara the truth....I felt it in this episode.

3. Loving Melissa's acting more and more with each episode, especially the internal conflict, it is very well written and acted.

4. Loved the scene at the DEO between Kara and Max at the beginning, and between James and Kara.

Overall I really enjoyed the episode, there were just a few things here and there that brought it down to a "9" rather than a "10".

I really enjoyed the episode, The Master Jailer was a good villain and his agenda dovetailed nicely with Kara and James debate over keeping Max prisoner. I thought the scene where they discussed it at the DEO was the best scene they have had together, both the writing and acting was very good.

The first fight between Kara and the Master Jailer was awesome, probably my fav fight the show has done so far, shame the rematch was so anti-climactic, I couldn't even tell what Kara did to him that made him collapse.

Jimmy's ultimatum to Kara is complete bollocks, he's so whiny when the romance stuff starts and so indecisive, get your **** together dude!

Kara is being unduly harsh on Hank, I don't think Astra was redeemable, she loved Kara but never relinquished her zealot-like behavior regarding damning humanity to save Krypton.

Siobhan is an unapologetic uber b**ch! They are making her plenty hateable for when she becomes Silver Banshee. :D

I enjoyed the episode but it could have been better. It was definitely a step back from the last one.

Negatives:

- The new assistant. I know I'm not supposed to like her but she just seemed a bit too cliched for me.
- The love triangle with James. Just stop...please.
- Don't know how The Master Jailer captured Kara. We should have been shown that.

Positives:
- The first fight with the Master Jailer. Well done.
- Finally resolved the "Holding Maxwell Lord without any charges" angle.
