Supergirl Supergirl Season 1 Episode 18 - "Worlds Finest" MAJOR SPOILERS

^ Her reaction was great, wasn't it.

Also, in an addendum/correction from earlier, I guess Doctor Hamilton WAS present in "For the Girl Who Has Everything" (albeit credited as DEO Doctor); I just didn't notice her.

This episode was all kinds of fun, but I do wish that things had been scheduled a little bit differently so that this episode could've aired AFTER tomorrow night's episode of The Flash (which provides the explanation for Barry's arrival on SG-Earth) because it felt as if something was missing without that context.

That's a minor quibble, though.
it's a network schedualling problem which is on cbs and cw mostly the latter.
Part of me wants to question what Winn and Kara were thinking in taking Siobhan to the DEO (couldn't they have taken her to a normal hospital?), but then we wouldn't have had what we needed in order for her and Livewire to team up, so it's something I can overlook and forgive even if it doesn't make a whole lot of sense logically. I did like that their decision led to the introduction of what may very well be the first gender-swapped version of Doctor Emil Hamilton ever featured in an adaptation of the Super-mythos in the form of DEO physician Amelia Hamilton, although I do find myself wondering where the heck she was back in "For the Girl Who Has Everything" when Kara got attacked by the Black Mercy. Oh well. At least she's here now, and I hope we see her again.

I think Winn thought she was a alien or what happened to Live wire and Reactron of which the show supergirl stated both are still human. but mutated . they are technically what barry is meta human's but the show had yet to ever call them the term .

Barry geeking out over the DEO was great, and I thought it was interesting that Lucy didn't react with even the least bit of surprise when Kara called him a Meta-human, which suggests that she's familiar with the term even though it had never been previously uttered on-screen and adds to the lore and mythos of the show's universe without having to beat us over the head with the information. I also liked the way Kara reacted when Barry asked about her sister; it really shows just how strong the bond between her and Alex is, and was kind of reminiscent for me of the scene where Barry ends up telling Iris and Joe about his experiences on Earth-2 and the pain on his face when he has to admit that his actions got E2-Joe killed.

like I said above about Reactron and live wire they just haven't outright put a term for the mutated human's of super girl earth as of yet.

I also found it interesting that Supergirl's universe doesn't have doppelgangers for Barry's friends, which, again, offers up some interesting possibilities as to the mythos of said universe and the way that the "Arrow-Derived Multiversal Reality Construct" works.

that last part is weird seeing there's a cadmus technology in the Flarrow verse. when roy came back to town and the calculator had him steal from there. but oh well that's on the writer of arrow. it's also possible they do but they are just more covert then the one's in barrys verse kinda similar to small vill where most only show them selves to clark at a certain time in his life as an investigative reporter and hero coming to his own bafor finally taking the name super man

Point is we won't know .
Cat figuring out that Barry was The Flash was great, but I do wish she'd stuck to her guns and named him The Blur like she'd wanted to.

kara is just bad a secrets. but it's different from both oliver queen and joe west in where they are caught in the act and can't explain with th obvious truth in front o person and when it's time to come clean they still lie with trying and seem it's the person that asking for the truths fault.

so I'm ok with it with kara. the only thing I don't like is that James and winn don't try ether and try to help her out when she has that trouble.

It was fun.
But, I REALLY could have done without the tacked on cliffhanger ending.

I loved how they blended the Flash theme with Supergirl theme (most notable when they went to the warehouse together)

I loved how they somewhat confirmed that there is a Central City in Supergirl's world as well.

Supergirl and The Flash were great together. Winn was a perfect match as well for this episode. Everything else was kinda underwhelming. Still good entertainment. Perhaps my expectations were just too high.

Was not a bad episode, it was my first time watching Supergirl, the acting was abit off, but overall a pretty good team up.

My understanding is the relevant episode is in two weeks, not this week. I agree it would be nice, but I'm just glad they were able to do it at all.

Don't let it be your last.....this by far was not the best episode....fun, but not the best.

pretty enjoyable ep cept for that scene of everyone sticking up for supergirl. that was spiderman movie level cringe.

When James zoned out after Kara kissed him, was anyone else thinking of Superman's kiss mind-wiping Lois Lane?

Seriously, for about ten seconds, I thought that's where they were going with that. :funny:

I thought that as well :D

I thought the episode was a little underwhelming as well; and honestly feel, that the CW would do a much better job with SG & story, than how CBS handled Flash. Everything seem forced & contrived or convenient.

It was fun episode that captured my imagination of what could have been. Cisco would have been great with Winn...love to see those two in a pi%%ing contest. Kara & Barry did have good chemistry; however, SG & Flash really didn't gel to me. Cat was over the top & felt out of place with comedic one-liners. Like someone said...this should not have been the episode for the Jimmy/Kara love bloom. Although I understand using Barry's charm to be a catalyst; I feel it fail terribly.

The acting was subpar for CBS episode and the action, what little there really was, was not that enticing. The villains was subpar...Live wire seemed more bark than bite. Did enjoy the SB backstory...but they had to rush right through it because of time restraints. Which lead me to say, this should have been a double episode deal, to allow ample time for more character & story development. The whole episode seem rushed & proceeded too fast...and I think that's why it may have suffered & a bit underwhelming. It was not the best episode, could have been better, given the magnitude & character involved; but, it was great to see Flash with a major superhero, other than Green Arrow.

As far as timing of episode....I think it was important for CBS, the episode debut off the same weekend as a more notable team-up occuring, in the likes of Superman, Batman, & Wonder Woman. Episode being out of sequence with CW was not as important to CBS as taking advantage of the BvS release. Little disappointed that there's no sense of other common superheroes being on either of their respective Earth's.

6.5 out of 10 mainly because acting, setup, story, action, & a bit corny. Good parts no doubt Kara & Barry chemistry, i will say Barry & Winn chemistry as well, Barry's intelligence & compassion,

Berlanti and Kreisberg clarified that tonight's episode of The Flash is where the setup happens, and did so in the interview where they announced that Lynda Carter will be showing up in Season 2.

I thought the episode was ok. Not as good as I hoped. The way Barry arrives in scenes with super speed is weird. I was... shocked that Barry would use his lightening attack on Livewire. Still not feeling Jimmy and Kara. Cat is the MVP.

Kara has had a massive thing for Jimmy since the start, that's the long and short of it. Chemistry be damned, some women just want what they want. And we know what she wants....:o

I feel like pointing out that, even though Barry couldn't find doppelgangers of his allies on SG-Earth in Central City, it's entirely possible that he didn't cast a wider net and that said characters are out there somewhere, especially since the producers said that there's definitely a possibility of doppelgangers of known characters eventually showing up on SG, so my "headcanon" until proven otherwise is that SG-Earth does have its own versions of the S.T.A.R. Labs gang and Team Arrow; they're just "in the wind", as it were, and aren't where we'd expect them to be or doing what we'd expect them to be doing.

I enjoyed part of yesterday's episode but a lot felt too silly.

It was definitely rushed and the lay-out of the dueling team-ups was corny and straight out of a 60's comic book, but I have no issue with that as it can be good fun, which this episode was. :)

The episode was an awful lot of fun. Great ending with the firefighter rescue, and Kara and Barry (KaBarry?) had terrific chemistry. I know that "James" Olsen is the predetermined tall, dark and handsome love interest, but after last night's episode its clear to me he needs to be sent over to the Friend Zone along with Winn.

Is Cat the only one on the show who hasn't visited the super-secret DEO base/alien prison?

They are laying the path for Brainiac 5. Its almost too obvious at this point.

-The Legion Ring
-Indigo and the Info Dump on Coluans
-Indigo and Non's relationship proving Coluans and Kryptonians are 'compatible'
-Barry setting up time travel
-Winn's comment to James about how he gets jealous over Kara's time travelling hero friend. He didn't time travel, he crossed space. Clearly a hint of the doom of James and Kara in S2 (thank god!)

I loved how Winn was so excited about the confirmation of the Multiverse.
I also liked his moment with Siobahn.
My favorite moment was Cat pleading for mercy for her children.

This was a fun episode, but not a very good one. The fight scene was very weak. I did not like the hokey Spider-Man 2-esque thing they did with the fireman.

But it did have a lot of very cool moments. Looking forward to a more fleshed out crossover next year.
