Hello people. I haven't posted any art for a while and realised I hadn't done a proper manip for years! I wanted to do something in hi-res as if it was being made for print as a poster and so I could get it printed professionally. The original is HUGE. Here are two smaller versions.

I picked my favourite subject Supergirl and used AnnaSophia Robb who I think would be just the right age for Kara Zor-El and definitely has the right look.

Let me know what you think!

(This one is the same but for smaller screens)

Great manip! But for some reason, it makes me a little uncomfortable.:O

It looks good, interesting casting choice. There are some problems with it, but it's still a good manip. To get specific, the one flaw that really stands out is the conflicting light sources. The face image you used is lit from the front but the body is lit from the upper left. There's also some problems with proportions of the body, particularly that left arm. It's a little bit longer than the right arm and it doesn't quite bend right at the elbow.

Those are some particular details, but looking at the overall composition it's pretty good. The image gives off kind of a cheerleader vibe, but I think it's mostly because of the facial expression. I think using a better source image of her would improve the entire image quite a bit. Facial expression goes a long way towards dictating the mood of an image, so I personally would use an image where she's got a more serious facial expression. If you want her to be smiling though, consider whether she is smiling with her teeth or not. Smiling with teeth showing is playful, smiling with lips shut gives off a more seductive mood. You could also try using an image where she's looking off-camera for a more dramatic feel. Or a different idea I had (although it would probably be hard to find a good image) would be to have her looking up with her head tilted back and her arms down by her side.

Anyways that's just some constructive criticism and different ideas for you to mull over, but it's a good manip already, good job!

Thanks for the comments and criticisms.

The light sources I agree with. It was hard finding the right image of her as there aren't that many of her and most of then she is pre-teen.

I was trying to steer clear of the moody, superhero expression and I'm going for a real fun, teenage look. If it was up to me a Supergirl movie would spin off from the Superman movies and appeal to a younger female audience as well. With a good director and a good story I think they could make a really good movie. I'm pretty sure WB has given up on female superhero movies after Catwoman (yuck) but I think they could be sitting on a goldmine personally. AnnaSophia would be perfect for the role. (I have already made this movie in my head - haha)

I used an image of a girl leaping in the air as a base and the arms are taken from there and size and shape haven't been changed so they are in proportion.

I'd say the image is about 90% there. I'd like some comments before I completely finish it so anything would be helpful.

Shouldn't her skirt be red?

Also, even though I like the belt, I thought everyone hated the Superman Returns belt design.

Supergirl always had a blue skirt. Think it changed to red in the 80's but now they have gone back to the blue skirt.

Here's a new version.

How would she get a belly button piercing?

Surely being bullet proof would also come with being needle proof.

Kryptonite needle.

Young girls will go to great lengths to be trendy.

exactly!! I thought of taking it away but I thought a belly ring fitted her character.

Plus WB could make a fortune selling Supergirl belly rings to tie-in with the movie! $$$

The same way Superman gave a sample of his blood to Star Labs, A liitle kryptonite radiation at the site and a needle will pentrate her skin.
