Probably different rights holders, the supergirl disc your referencing is put out by a DVD Distribution House called Anchor Bay, rights are a tricky issue and often for older movies, the rights are often split up all over the place. For example WB owns the international rights for F13th the fist movie, while Paramount owns it for the US releases. What all this means is that different distribution houses get access to different "prints" and special features are usually made by a distribution house themselves. Now in the case of prints that can not be helped, distribution houses have to work with whatever given to them. Now with special features, some distribution houses don't like to share there special features or charge exorbant prices, I know that Criterion now uses there special features as bargaining tools to get the rights to movies they want to release. So in any case what it all boils down to is the company that's releasing it in the UK doesn't think that Supergirl would be profitable enough to lay down the cash for special features. And also the editions you reference are out of print in the US and go for high prices meaing that the rights probably have left Anchor Bay's hands. I am reminded of similar situation in the reverse...

MGM owns the rights to Army of Darkness in Asia and put out a director cut dvd which has image quality that's a 100 times better and has more footage, rights is a tricky thing, and also a lot of the time wiht older movies, better prints and more footage lie in the hands of collectors, and they name the price for using there stuff.

Word on the street though is there releasing a new Supergirl Region 1 2 Disc Special Edition so if you plan on importing I would wait and see.

I will tell you what sucks right here and now.

I am addicted, not to comicbooks, but to magazines, so I get 4 mags from the U.K.

They always have these ads for the cOOlest dvd sets, etc. that aren't available here.

I thought America was like, the nexus for mindless entertainment. But I've gone to all the stores, asking about the cool stuff, like the FLY, POTA, and Flash Gordon sets, and they're all like, "Duh-ErrrRRRrh?"

They don't even KNOW about this stuff.

Maybe I'd better migrate. F***.

Wait it out because as I said before it seems that the rights to SUpergirl have left Anchorbay, and the plan is that WB is going release a new SE when Superman Returns comes out, so wait it out who knows maybe it'll come out on your side of the pond.

As for those saying other countries get better stuff, I disagree, I'd say it's pretty balance but it pretty effin ******ed that Germany gets 2 Disc SEs of Fistful of Dollars and a Few Dollars more because Sony ****in dumb, and they just absorbed MGM...

I own the 2 Disc anchor Bay Supergierl DVD. It's pretty interesting and a guilty pleasure of mine.

Long time no see, Godzilla2000, where you been?

Some Info i found on the Internet.

Mischa Barton as Supergirl?
If the Superman Returns pic becomes a blockbuster, the leggy OC star may be the next big screen Kryptonian.

Mischa Barton is reportedly being considered to play the Girl of Steel if Superman Returns is a hit.

"In recent news, the lovely Mischa's career is looking to the heights, as she is apparently at the top of a list of candidates to bring Supergirl back to the big screen," according to the Post Chronicle.

"If Superman Returns does as well as expected this summer then Supergirl will be pushed into the schedule," reveals one movie insider. "There are a few actresses in the reckoning and Mischa is at the top of that list."

Take it with a grain of salt, superhero projects are always being hinted at and never go anywhere, does anyone remember when Batman Beyond was in the works.

lol I still run into people who think the Batman Beyond movie is going to happen.

Have you been reading comics? All women look like that, skinny super-models with the exception of She-Hulk.

Is the Hulk also part of DC and where did She Hulk come into the Comics.

How did she happen and who is she, i barely know her and i think i saw her in a Cartoon once Years ago.

Hulk is marvel comics, she hulk is like supergirl, is hulk's cousin. Jennifer Walters (she hulk) is Bruce Banner's (hulk) cousin.
