So, odd question here, and I haven't watched any of the episodes yet, so maybe they touch on it, but how the hell does she have pierced ears?

I think this is a legitimate question given her super powers. I also wondered about the earrings when I saw them. I don't know what you guys are talking about with the tattoos. Does Kara have them on the show?

The other thing that really bugs me is that scar on her left eyebrow. How does she have a scar when everything heals without a mark?

I think the more important question is....how does an alien from another galaxy manage to look like an earthling? Why worry about a small thing like an earring when we have a whole planet of creatures in some far away galaxy that have somehow managed to evolve to look exactly like people from the planet earth.

I think the more important question is....how does an alien from another galaxy manage to look like an earthling? Why worry about a small thing like an earring when we have a whole planet of creatures in some far away galaxy that have somehow managed to evolve to look exactly like people from the planet earth.

The probability of other humanoid races evolving is actually fairly likely, from an evolutionary viewpoint.

That said, things like her earrings ARE important. Every article of clothing a character wears is meticulously planned out in many productions.
The presence of an earring was intentional, but thoughtless; intentional, and WITH thought; or a careless oversight.

It is a "small" detail, and as such, an easily rectified one, but also, such "small" details are never "small" in terms of character and story.

Her sister, who works for the DEO, recently did it for her, since this is the sort of thing sisters do in fiction. Knowing that she's superstrong but vulnerable to Kryptonite, her sister used a special Kryptonite tipped needle.
