Jokes are rather tasteless and rude, but firing for that, imo, is too much.
I wonder if Guardians will live without Gunn.
I would've laughed harder if it was just only full of straws.A genuinely funny parody of the Aquaman poster:
My words of nearly a decade ago were, at the time, totally failed and unfortunate efforts to be provocative, Gunn said in a statement. I have regretted them for many years since not just because they were stupid, not at all funny, wildly insensitive, and certainly not provocative like I had hoped, but also because they dont reflect the person I am today or have been for some time.
It's the only time Wolverine and Sabertooth were brothers.
"Nobody kills you but me"
Gunn gets fired for tweets he made ten years ago, six before being hired by Disney.
Meanwhile Bryan Singer, an actual pedophile is still directing movies.

James Gunn has responded:

If you have regretted them for many years since then why didn't you delete them?!
This whole Gunn thing had me looking at my old tweets. Nothing bad but my God were they annoying and corny
wasn't he taken off Bohemian Raphsody? His credit might be on there, but I don't expect him to work ever again.Yeah I still don't get that either

He was "taken off" Bohemian Rhapsody because he apparently didn't show up to work and not because of the numerous molestation allegations from underaged victims. Gotta love Hollywood.
He shouldn't ever work again and I've been saying as much since for quite some time now.
And despite all of it, he's still getting directing credit for the movie.
Thousands of tweets were deleted. I only saw roughly 2 dozen and if I was a company head he would've been booted. Its the huge amount of them thats the issue, I think.
Im not sure what else they could do with multiple tweets about subjects like raping sleeping women, laughing at people with AIDS, engaging in sexual acts with children, and jokes about the holocaust.
One or two tasteless tweets is one thing, but this is a systematic and repetitive level of disgusting behaviour over a long period.

The guy who dug up dirt is also pretty disgusting.

Yeah... he's a piece of trash, but unfortunately he picked the right target: a dumb movie director who made way too many pedophilia jokes on his Twitter profile. The guy who dug up dirt is also pretty disgusting.

In the DC Page to Screen Panel Dan Evans, VP of Creative Affairs for DC Entertainment, responded to a fan's question about the possibility of a Lobo show or movie by telling him to keep an eye on this weekend's announcements
Same. Though I must re-iterate I haven't read the tweets, I have made plenty of tasteless and rude jokes in my lifetime. Just not on a public domain, but it's not a sacking offense for me.
Guardians is one of my favourite franchises, I now worry about what's going to happen with it.
