Iron Man Superhero vs Terrorists

I'm with hatebox here.
Having an American appearing as a savior in Afghanistan and taking out the bad guys does sound like propaganda. The political situation there is complicated and many people aren't sure armed external intervention is the way to handle it (if outsiders are to interfere at all).

Still, in the film's context it kind of worked, since they were presented more as a group with aims of world domination than middle-eastern terrorists and were using his weapons. Iron Avenger put it best

more specifically, though, IM was stopping terrorists from using american weapons to harm innocent people.

That said, I definitely wouldn't want to see Captain America supporting the current USA external policy. All these super-heroes can represent their beliefs without dangerous subtext on real-world delicate situations.

Yeah, I'm also really worried about how they're gonna handle Captain America. It's no longer easy to see exactly what he stands for, is it?
