Predict how much Superman will gross at the box office.

I think They'll be over the moon with anything over $300m domestic.
I'm going for $250m - $300m domestic
$350m - $400m overseas
$600m - $700m WW total

Right now, I feel like people would expect this to outgross GOTG Vol. 3 and it would be seen as a disappointment, if it didn't. But this is also like the 3rd Superman reboot in the movies, so $700 million globally wouldn't be bad.

As of right now with the hype it will make 350 million US and 450 overseas. $800 million would be a solid start to the DCU.

I think this is a WB big movie like Barbie was in 2023. I think it could easily get to a billion with advertising and positive reviews from critics/fans. I am sorry I just think if Barbie and Moana 2 can get to a billion so can Superman.

The anticipation for this movie just feels different this time. I believe this movie is happening at the right time to make it a huge success.

Assuming the reviews are anywhere from really good to great, I think it will be. 900-1B film.

I'm going to be perhaps, cautiously pessimistic & say $600m-$700m, which would still be a success I'd say.

The Batman was, overall, well received, by most fans & critics & it "only" grossed $772m WW. I would be a little surprised if Superman managed to surpass that even if it was as well received.

The Batman was not as family friendly it was more inside baseball and a love letter to Batman fans. Superman is going to attract more children and has more elements of what successful Marvel movies had. I think the studio expects it to do better in the four quadrants.

The studio should keep it's expectations realistic to avoid disappointment.

Surpassing or even equalling what the previous incarnation's debut film made should be their first target milestone. Anything north of $700m & they should be delighted, anything sort of below $600m & they should be a little concerned.

I still remember they were hoping Superman with Nolan's name would get them a billion.

The studio doesn’t greenlite Superman and market the way it has if it did not expect big things from it. You have investors you have to please and your not telling them lets put Superman in between Jurassic World and a Marvel movie if you don’t have confidence in the movie and IP. This is Superman not Shazam. Our fans are so scared it’s comical to me. You guys expect this movie to make less the Moana 2 and Wicked. Goodness I am so glad the studio suits don’t think like that or the movie would never have been made.

Which was a little crazy because at the time there was only a couple of solo superhero films that had got a billion, TDK, TDKR & Iron Man 3 if I'm remembering correctly, all of which were sequels.

To be fair, I probably bought into it as well at the time, Nolan was sprinkling fairy dust over every WB film they released trying to turn them all into gold.

You're missing the point: Those numbers ARE big things. We have GOT to get out of this mindset that "big things"= a billion. That's simply not true, and those expectations would stupidly set up the whole universe to be perceived as a failure even if it's not.

Wicked is the biggest box office success story of 2024 despite not making the most, because it obliterated previous expectations and made an exponentially bigger profit than anyone projected for it. Those numbers would equate to a substantial profit for Superman as well, and if the movie's well-received, that would more than please any investors.

I agree that Wicked numbers would be fine but let’s not be scared of this getting a billion. Fans seem to be walking around on egg shells. This is the year of Superman. Wait till Super Bowl weekend when we get the clip. :halo:

Added a poll. You may have to change to default theme to see it.

It’s challenging to predict the box office for this film due to the competition in July. While Superman looks promising, it faces tough rivals releasing in the same month. I’m reminded of June 2011 when Green Lantern was released amidst high competition. Back then, Superman was also placed in a crowded schedule in July 2025. Other films won’t shy away from Superman; they will likely take away significant box office revenue, similar to how Super 8, Transformers 3, Cars 2, and X-Men: First Class affected Green Lantern.

Here’s a look at the July 2025 lineup:

- Jurassic World: Rebirth (July 2)
- Trey Parker's film (July 4)
- Superman (July 11)
- Smurfs (July 18)
- I Know What You Did Last Summer (July 18)
- The Fantastic Four: First Steps (July 25)

I feel it's a miss for them not to not play up Lex more.
We of course know that this Lex is not the Lex from the last several films.
In fact, he will probably be closer to the SV Lex more than anything else.
But, the GA doesn't know that.

It won't make or break the film either way, but, it would be cool to play him up some more.

I feel the B.O. will be in the 750 mill range if it's good.

800 mill(ish) if it's great.

Less than 650 if it's just OK.

And let's not talk about if it's less than ok.

I bet Supes/Clark, Lois, and Lex will get plenty of dialogue in the second trailer. Patience brother, it’s along way to go until July 11. I hope you noticed how quickly the FF4 talk and Jurassic talk sputtered because of all the other trailers came out last week. Superman has dominated the air space for two months with no competition. You can’t do better then finishing behind 4 of the most watched MCU films in history in trailer views of with a teaser. I think some of you guys get caught up with the negativity of a minority group but don’t understand the reality. Superman is the most anticipated movie of the year. If it’s just good it will blow up the box office.
