Superman Confidential Preview

Good art. Not sure how I feel about so many writers taking so much of their inspiration from the DCAU though.

Looks good, but this couldve easily been told in All Star Superman. There is no need for another Superman title.

Superman is quickly rising to the Wolverine level at this rate. Next he'll be on fifteen different teams.

Beat me to it!!! :cmad:

O well, i'm looking forward to this very much.

I believe this is in continuity though.

And this is technically not part of the Superman line like Superman, Action Comics, and Supergirl are. This is part of a new line of Confidential titles where it could expand to characters such as Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, etc. Sorta like the JLA: Classified and JSA: Classified.

Well, the DCAU did handle a few things better than the comics did. I mean, I love the comics Toyman, but the DCAU Toyman, I think, is superior. Although sarcastic, mildly psychotic Brainiac of the comics is better than cold, emotionless Brainiac of the DCAU.

I actually like DCAU Brainiac better. He's just more interesting to me.

I love how Sale can make Superman look smug yet still heroic at the same time. :D

Why does their mastery of the graphic storytelling format inspire such rage in you?

I just love how Sale just keeps on improving himself everytime he gets a new assignment.

Question:Since the solicitations give away the fact that we will see Supes first encounter with Kryptonite in this issue, this pretty much means that Birthright is totally going to be ignored right?

Yeah. Editors have already said that they'll be detailing a new origin. I don't mind. This looks good.

Yeah, both Birthright and Man of Steel are officially being ignored.

Wait 10 years and this series will be ignored too. :o

That's probably true, but the facts that it's in continuity at the moment and that Cooke and Sale are working on it mean I'll be getting the first arc, at least. As sure-to-be-retconned stories go, this one should at least be really good while it lasts. :)

Yeah, I do plan on at least getting the first arc, and then I'll stockpile it together with my other "canon" 1st kryptonite encounters. :)

I am most def adding this.

I love that shot of Supes.

Sorry Batman has Superman beat to that title.

I love Sale's artwork, but why does his Superman always have squinty eyes? He looks like he's constantly doing a Clint Eastwood impression.
