superman costume change

Would you ever like to see a costume change for big blue? I know he has had some temporary changes before, but could there ever be a new look that caught on?

And just because I'm not a big muckity muck here at the hype doesn't mean I'm not a big Superman fan. The containment suit was stupid, killing him was stupid. The longer hair in the 90's worked a little. Otherwise, leave him alone.

No. I think history has shown, if there's one costume that really can't, and shouldn't, be changed, it's Superman's.

As for the Returns suit catching on in the comics...eh, I'd hardly call one particular artist adding an \S/ to the belt much of a change.

you see the odd thing is, is that I like to think that batman is just as iconic as supes, but his costume fluxuates on a book to book basis. No one seems to mind.

All though the look in All-Star Superman's avatar is pretty bad@$$. But maybe a little over the top on a monthly basis.

But how come every change that is made to Supergirl's costume is accepted?
Is it because she's not as iconic of a character?

That's true, but I think it pretty much keeps the same feel, it just changes with the artists interpretaion of the character.
I posted pictures of a custom Batman cowl I was working on on another forum I belong too, (I'm gonna name drop here) that artist Staz Johnson (Batman/Alien 2) is a member of also, I asked him if he had any pointers to which he replied different artists have different interpretations.
Supes does look different body physically by different artists and even though I'm a Batman guy, I think Superman needs to stay the same, costume wise.
It'd be like John Wayne wearing an Indian headdress, or Elvis with a beard, or Jesus without one.

Actually, I think they should change Supes costume to look like Conner's in that future Teen Titans story. Y'know with the red underwear replaced with a red belt, but keep the yellow in the \S/. Also, make the shade of red & blue close to the way it is now. I really just want Supes to lose the frikkin' red underwear. He's responsible for the stigma placed on super-heroes now.

Yeah the tighty reddies could go. It's got a pain for them when the got take a wiz.

I got a old school Bats costume I wear for Halloween, It's a pin dealing with underwear, spandex, and a speedo.

the red shorts don't bother me that much, but I would like to see him drawn without them once in a while, just to keep things fresh. I'm not saying I want to see him shave his head and start wearing green tights, but who knows, maybe loosing the underoos once in a while might not be the worst thing that happens.

Lashley's art on the Flash wasn't all that bad.

Either way, I don't think Superman's costume should be changed. On the flip side, I'm pretty much the only fan of Superman Blue in existence.

really really messy... it was the first few issues of the new title... that along with pisspoor characterization and plot cliches out the ass made me drop that rag...
