Superman Director Found

I think the title of this thread is a tad misleading. This is still a rumor, and IESB themselves say that it is.

Jonah Nolan would be perfect.

Especially with Chris Nolan mentoring him, we could get something really amazing.

This is great news... I have faith in Jonah even though it will be his directorial debut (If the news is true).

I'm expecting a Bruce Wayne/Batman cameo in The Man of Steel.

Don't. If you mean Nolan's Bruce, then definitely don't. You should know that Nolan's Batman exists in a world without superheroes.

More than likely Bruce won't have a cameo, but Nolan's Batman is the first superheroes. Doesn't mean that down the line Superman, Green Arrow, Flash, etc. couldn't show up.

Jonathan Nolan for Supes? I prefer him to be writing it than directing it. He never directed a film before & I don't know if I feel comfty with his first film being a big action kind of film like Supes.

I disagree with this. If the Nolan's and Goyer are involved in the Superman reboot, from this point foward everything connects to Nolan's Bat-universe. They're trying to build up to a Justice League movie... this is inevitable. Therefore yes, I do mean Nolan's Bruce.

there's always a suspension of disbelief. In the end, Nolan's Batman films no matter how grounded they are - will always be fantasy superhero films.

If Nolan goes onto do Superman and make it work, along with Justice League, then don't hold that 'realism' quote against him. Besides, really, only fans who follow these productions care about stuff like that.

..was he lost?

:lmao:

Jonah Nolan is an interesting idea. Both Nolans directing the two biggest icons for DC.

But Chris directing Justice League? I doubt it. I prefer them treat the JL team as Marvel's dealing with The Avengers. Get two Superman films in, GL and a Flash. Possibly, if we're lucky, Martian Manhunter. Wonder Woman would be better off having her intro in the JL film because ideas of her film have always been around World War II. Wonder Woman's origin would be ideal with Justice League(the cartoon)'s "Secret Origins". And if not a MM film, then his origin could be in the JL movie as well, and again, ala "Secret Origins". Which, that could work. The Justice League fighting off White Martians.

But, then again, ONLY if we get more single films. Let's see how the first Superman movie does and get a second one. Let's see how the third Batman film goes. Let's see how GL does, and get a Flash film rolling as well. And also, I like the idea of Batman being one of the "first" heroes before the JL is even thought of. And in Green Lantern, the ring, before it finds Hal, it passes Clark(said in script), so that could give us a hint that before Clark becomes Superman, Hal becomes Green Lantern, et cetera, Bruce is already Batman. It would still fit in with Nolan's "Batman is in a world without superheroes".

DC/WB should slow down their pace before they mess up again too.

So no one else finds it weird they are putting all their cards on one person, or should I say one family.

I mean try different people, I think this is WB's way of thinking Hey the one director/writer did good with one film lets do it with a bunch of are other films.

Seems kinda lazy if you ask me. But hey I'm not a comic fan. And I'm sure all you Nolan-nites will rip me to shreds for saying that, but whatever.

Well, I am just concerned that if the Nolans get involved in this, that may delay the 3rd Batman.

Well for Flash, they're thinking of Berlanti, who co-wrote Green Lantern, but backed out of directing, so WB is trying to still get him to direct a comic-book adaptation.

The only thing the Nolans are involved in at the moment is Batman 3 and The Man of Steel. Chris Nolan will produce The Man of Steel while directing Batman 3, simple. :word: And Jonathan Nolan is writing/wrote Batman 3 while he MIGHT direct The Man of Steel.

it was reported that he already turned in a draft for Batman 3. i think the groundwork for Superman is being done right now. otherwise, yeah,

I thought IESB also reported that they have a script for The Man of Steel as well, a story and a script.

I know that if this Jonah Nolan rumor pans out, I know one non-SHH! forum mod is going to go apes*** over this news (relax, it's no one on the board, it's a Toku/Sentai/PR forum). And not in a good way -- he hated C.Nolan's Batman movies and says that Nolan's shepherding the Superman franchise will be ruined like the Batman series was.

Well chris is the main man behind the comic book properties. He is one of the top directors in the game and he has excellent vision as well as respect for the general audience as well as the comic book fans. He is the most talented man for the job for sure. He cant possibly film all those movies at the same time or one after the other so Jonah doing that part for superman would be a good idea as well. The way I see it this is all a team effort and in the end result is going to be very nice.

Chris Nolan ruined the Batman films? LOL, I guess he didn't see the Joel Schumacher ones.

to be honest everything we been hearing the last few weeks/other day is all rumors to we have official word from anyone. though i really hope things are actually happening and we are not in another BS crap like before.
