do not get me wrong ... i think the only way to "re-introduce" Superman is going back to his real origin - being the man of the future - means limited powers (eg. jumps over buildings, faster than a train, etc.) ... all the abominations done with his powers the last 20 years (i mean, c'mon, he was even flying through the sun) harmed his character as a believable comic hero too much .....

Superman is still the man of tomorrow. Ok, it's not realistic that humans will evolve the ability to fly and push planets, but it doesn't have to be. It's fantasy. Fantasy is still allowed in this day and age, isn't it? Does everything have to be plausible now? Ok, Batman Begins was cool, it depicted Batman's world in a plausible way. That doesn't mean that the entire comic industry has to follow it's example and only tell plausible stories.

Some of that and also bring back his populist social conscience. Superman should be the champion of the oppressed and they could use at least a fictional champion now.
