Superman Reboot Writers Workshop

Reboot is the worst thing that could happen to the franchise right now. Anyone that thinks that a reboot is a good idea is just a hater and won't like any Superman movie no matter how good it is.

I want to see a sequel with Singer at the helm.

First how about they make a good one before you go, and say that... The movie SR was not good homie.

from wizard

of the following, who should direct the JLA film:
bryan singer: 28%
chris nolan: 22%
james cameron: 15%
michael bay: 19%
zach snyder: 12%
brett ratner: 4%

Singer wouldn't be the first to leap to mind for JLA, but that's rather telling. 72% would want someone else.

Meh, that poll isn't fair. Bay and Cameron are the only real directors on there suited for JLA. I'm suprised Cameron is losing. Fanboys still bitter over the Spider-Man script? A Cameron directed JLA would be the most amazing movie in the history of movies. Unfortunately, he only seems to do one movie every ten years...and Avatar called dibbs this time :csad:

But yeah, Wizard should try running a list of directors who would actually work for JLA instead of recent comic book movie directors (and James Cameron)

i dont see how the poll can be considered unfair. i mean, it gives a list of options to choose from (like them or not) and people chose.

i do think the results are interesting though...mainly because theres a ****de of people around here who not only treat nolan as god, but talk as if singer is an ass and ruined superman and implying that a majority of superman fans think the same...when obviously that is not the case. if people dont like what singer did and dont like superman returns, thats totally cool. but dont pretend that your opinion of that is representative of the majority, because its not. the majority of general audiences, fans, and critics enjoyed bryan singers superman returns. all major polls seem to suggest that as the truth. (matt, i dont mean all this to be directed at you by the way, just a general statement).

but yeah, as much as i dig singer, i'd take cameron for JLA.

How do you know Cameron would be a good choice? He's never done a movie with super heroes. Bay, I can agree with you.

Bryan Singer to direct JLA? LOL

Will him give a son to every character of DC and make the movie the challenge of the superbursery?

Why do you SR haters always use the kid as your excuse as why SR is a bad movie? I praise Singer for having the balls to do it, you think he didn't know that there were going to be people like you that see everything negative?

just because SR wasnt adored by everyone doesnt mean it wasnt a good movie :cwink:

Oh no I agree with you there it's the bad acting, story plot, and directing that makes it a bad movie.
Titanic is a bad movie that people love because it does have a nice love story, and so girls loved it, and it made billions! SR had no heart, and or thought behind it. Singer must have been high with his writers when they wrote the script because a 6th grader could write a better script!

:woot:

That's your opinion. Not everyone thinks like you homie. I thought SR was a good movie.

Lies!!! :)

Wow, Singer winning the poll. That's definitely a Hurts Donut to all his detractors around here who'd make it seem as if he's the antichrist. Plus, he's beating Nolan, no less. Ouch.

i'm sorry, but are you implying that michael bay is a better director than james cameron?

Batfans were going to be pleased with just about anything after Batman Forever and then Batman and Robin. Nolan seems like a god to them because they were used to seeing less. Superman fans had 19 years to stew in their own juices and when the film didn't impress some of them, they freaked is all.

eh, i dont think thats the reason. Nolan did do an admirable job with BB and should be commended for it (though, i do think people tend to over rate both him and BB). im pretty certain the people who dont like singer and SR genuinely dont like him specifically for the reasons they give. im just annoyed be the irresponsibility of some to imply that their negative opinion is the general opinion, when thats not the case.

Problem accepting a poll's results fellows? :joker:

No, of course not. Cameron is much better than Bay. But I think a JL movie would fit Bay better. I think a JL movie would have a similar style to Transformers.

If you get rid of all the military crap, then sure. Worst part of that movie....

still goes to show that 78% didn't choose Singer...

Unfair was the wrong word. The poll is perfectly fair. Impractical, is perhaps the better choice. Those directors are not viable choices for a JLA movie (save Bay and Cameron). They are simply directors who have done recent comic movies (and Cameron).

I see and understand your point. I myself don't put too much stock in numbers. I mean a lot of people liked Resident Evil. Hardly makes it good.

Out of a very limited selection.

Yeah I will have to give you that...I wonder why they didn't include Peter Jackson there, or the so rumored George Miller. But they do decide to include Brett Ratner....The hell...Still, I believe the results are interesting, considering the mentality by the SR haters that everyone hates Singer.
