No. In Europe (and pretty much the rest of the world) the dating goes Day/Month/Year, So 4/12/2006 = Dec. 4th 2006. Not April!

Also check here: It also says Dec. 4th 2006!

I pointed out above that it was December 4th. It's going to be Nov. 28th in the states.

The poster will look different if there going to use it as a cover.

Since Singer says he'll put the return to Krytpon scene back in another release, why would I buy this movie if it's incomplete. At Comic Con he expressed his reluctance for why he deleted the scenes like Martha saying to Clark at the beggining of the film, where his father said he was put here for a reason. The scene where young Clark finding his space ship in the barn. So why would I buy this theatrical cut when there might be a chance for an extended cut and something better.

true. I remember buying dvds only to discover there's a super deluxe extended edition with extra commentary and including the kitchen sink coming out later some time. I think it's called double dipping. Still I don't really feel the need to buy this donner buttkiss. I'm poor and really I just want to buy the donner cut of superman 2 instead...

Yeah -- I'm not as sure there will be that level of a double-dip here. BB never got the treatment, so there's no guarantee Supes will.

And remember, Singer never said he'd ever release those shots in a DVD set. He did say those shots should be seen on-screen -- which more than likely means he'll use 'em in the sequel.

And yes, he's doing the sequel. Let's not go down that road again.

I'll be picking this up :-) If for nothing else, that plane scene is classic :-)

So if WB doesn't sell alot of SR DVD, will there still be a go for a sequel? They feel confident SR will do great in DVD sales like Batman Begins did. They didn't figure that the real reason Batman Begins did so poorly in theaters is because people were fed up with Batman (Schumachers fault) so they thought why beat a dead horse. But alot of people saw it on DVD and loved it, and it was a super surprise, and they went out and bought it on DVD. I think people saw SR and didn't like it and discouraged they're friends and family not to see. So will people see SR on DVD and rush out to buy it? I think the film is a big let down across the board and it won't do that well on DVD, I hope I'm wrong!

There will be no run on Superman the remake dvd's. They'll be lucky to not be in the bargain bins by christams. You're right this was a letdown across the board and the dvd sales will be as well. Look for Singer to be booted after this tanks.

The DVD will probably sell right along with Batman Begins just as the box office did, you will have people buying it that liked the movie plus those who didn't really feel it was good enough to see it in the theater.

Superman Returns was so lame. I can't belive they did this to Superman.

Region 1 news expected early next week.

I like how they made sure to call it a sequel in the storyline.. lol

After the battle with General Zod and his gang of Kryptonian super-villains, Superman (Brandan Routh) mysteriously disappears for six years. After searching for more possible survivors from Krypton and finding none, Superman returns to Metropolis to re-assume the identity of Clark Kent. Once he returns, he discovers that Lois Lane (Kate Bosworth) is in a relationship and also has a son. Superman also discovers that Metropolis has learned to live without him, causing him to lose his motivation to fight and protect. To make matters worse, Superman's old nemesis Lex Luthor (Kevin Spacey) has devised a plan to defeat the Man of Steel, for good. Superman must put his troubles behind him in order to protect his lost love, and the city who lost faith in him.

Guess this means no superpower ZOD in the sequel? lol

With the tendancy lately for studios to double dip with DVDs, combined with the knowledge that there are cut scenes existing out there somewhere....I won't be buying a copy until they make those deleted scenes available.

Same here. The way they release DVDs ought to be against some consumer law. Here's the Special Edition DVD ...now here is the Special Edition DVD with Deleted Scenes ...now here is the Super Special Edition DVD Dipped in Chocolate Sauce with Limited Edition Gold Packaging ...and don't forget about Blue Ray.

I usually buy right away but I am going to hold off on SR..I already have it in my Netflix Queue...so I will rent it first and wait to buy it when the deleted scenes are back in the movie.

Absolutely.....most of the DVDs I get anymore are used copies from the local Blockbuster....I got tired of paying full price for a movie and then six months later another copy jammed with extras comes out.

I am with you man, if I do actually buy a DVD it's a box set or used from a video store.

sad but true.

i'll probably get the double disc though. but i'm a little iffy with pre-owned stuff so i might go brand new, if the budget allows :o

And I think this is going to be a problem for the first round of DVD sales which is not going to have the deleted scenes.
I do not think they are going to sell that well IMO.

I think this is a mistake by WB they should release the deleted scenes DVD first so they re-coups losses from the BO and green light a sequel.

Without Singer IMO because he got paid way to much and didn't deliver a blockbuster BO or that great of a movie in general again IMO but anyways I just donot see the first run DVD's selling well without the deleted scenes.

Yeah, but no one read it! :o

You need a vaccum to suck the air out of your enlarging head.

Now, as for when I'll be buying this movie? When the pimped out 3 Hrs and 20 mins version comes out!

I refuse to by this movie until that comes out. Seen SR 5 times in IMAX, and I have the script, and it's in my Blockbuster list, so that can hold me off!

Sony didn't release the extended version of Spider-man 2, and won't until next year probably, and I didn't buy SM2...I can wait for the extended/uncut version.

I'll probably buy it and then just buy the extended version when it comes out.

There's an extended cut of Spider-Man 2?! What was cut out???

I mean, there were a couple of scenes, but not that integral from what I remember. Just more scenes that had to do with the wedding- two scenes, I think.
