There's an extended cut of Spider-Man 2?! What was cut out???

Sam Raimi is actually adding more in! Not much 5 minutes tops to the fight sequences. I think the train sequence is supposed to be like 30-60 seconds longer. It's been finished for a while now, but Sony decided to push it back, way back, in order to coerce fans to buy both. The idea being most people won't wait 2 years to buy this movie.

Wo, they definitely got me to buy it and double buy it. F4 did the same thing- but, ALOT was cut out of that movie.... not as bad as the theatrical DD, but still a pretty bad obvious 'double-dip' cut.

BTW. I thought I remember Singer saying that the DVD will have the deleted scenes- just not the Return to Krypton, which might or might not be used for the sequel at some point.

That's why I didn't buy Spiderman 2. Initially the extended version was suppose to comeout in Jan/Feb of 2005 (a couple months after the 1st release), but so many people were claiming that they were going to wait for the extended version that Sony pushed it back.

I'm not sure about this SR version coming out with the deleted scenes. All I know is there better be an extended version with ALL the deleted scenes reincorporated into the movie or I'm going to "get mad." I don't care if it take 3 years, I'm not buying unless I get the FULL cut!

I guess showtime is having one of those lady-days, but y'know for wussies! :(

I sense the greatest flamewar of all time coming on...

i'll probably get the double disc though. but i'm a little iffy with pre-owned stuff so i might go brand new, if the budget allows :o
That's the good thing about getting them at Blockbuster...they have a 30 day guarentee....if you find a problem within that time, you get it replaced. I've gotten a lot from there, and only had problems with 2 discs...and they were replaced no problem.

And I think this is going to be a problem for the first round of DVD sales which is not going to have the deleted scenes.
I do not think they are going to sell that well IMO.

I think this is a mistake by WB they should release the deleted scenes DVD first so they re-coups losses from the BO and green light a sequel.

Without Singer IMO because he got paid way to much and didn't deliver a blockbuster BO or that great of a movie in general again IMO but anyways I just donot see the first run DVD's selling well without the deleted scenes.
It will sale good...because most people don't care if there were cut scenes...plus the video stores will get a bunch to be rented.

Superman4ever....you trying to get probation?

Definitely. Not to mention, it's only us net fans that know about these cuts. General audience- not a clue.

Well I am not just basing the sales of the DVD off the non deleted scenes I also think they are rush releasing it for the christmas season and thats only 4 months away most DVD's wait 6+ months before being released.

So I am thinking the version that they are releasing in the first DVD will do well with rentals for people who hadn't seen it yet but the sales will be lackluster because those who want to buy it want the deleted scenes and peole who just want to see it because they didn't in the movie threater will just rent it.

That was why I am thinking the first release will not do that well and they should be releasing either them both at once or the deleted scenes one to recoup BO losses and green light a sequel.

Again all this is just my opinion and we shall see soon enough....

Dude, I see what you're saying to a point. But you also have to average in the buying fans that don't care about double dips, as well as the general audience who've seen and intend to buy the film (and most likely have no clue that scenes have been deleted). Will some, alot, of fans wait for the extended cut? Maybe, probably, dunno....

But, as said, outside of the net- don't think general audience knows about deleted scenes.

The avid "fans" of science fiction, comic books, and Superman most likely know of dleted scenes that they want restored...and a lot of the potential sales to this group will most likely be effected. But the majority of DVD buysing public who just buys a DVd to satisfy thier kids or because they happened to like it...won't care in the least about the missing scenes.

For joking around with a friend?

Or is it that one sentence that I had that took this thread WAY off topic? Sheesh!

Well I am also starting to think the general public is getting just as sick of there double dipping DVD's as we are and will rent first rather than the just buy attitude people have had previously.
But again we shall see I could be worng and the public is not getting as sick of the double dipping DVD's as I am.

The people who buy DVDs for themselves may be a little more annoyed at the whole double dipping thing.....but there will be many parents who, though they may not personally like SR or want the better version that will come out later, will buy a copy to keep the kids that ask for it quiet for a while.

Yeah, public is getting sick of double dipping. But, no knowing what movie will have a double dip and which movie won't have a double dip. General audience doesn't know anything's been deleted. While fans do know.

I have no way of knowing who's just joking or who's starting an argument....and some things don't need to be said on an open forum even if it is a joke.

Seriously, power trip much? What did I say that was so offensive that almost qualifies me for probation? Was it the "wussies" part, because there is NO way I could have used a more derogatory word. Was it the gif...too politically incorrect, what?

I'm SO sick of you picking on me for NO reason. This isn't the first time that you've done this crap, and, I'm pretty sure as hell that it isn't the last, so whatever.

Have you seen what goes on in the community? Go strut yourself over there big man.

Do you get to go on probation for starting this argument...or are ya just going to censor me boss?
