EDIT... It was playing today. It'll probably play again tomorrow. Those who don't want to wait until the CD release might want to take a listen.

XM Satellite Radio.

Which means someone's probably ripping it RIGHT NOW off XM and will upload it to the torrent networks somewhere soon if you want it BAD ENOUGH, or maybe the people who typically do that stuff were sleeping on the job when the Score initially aired.

Also, if you have DirecTV, apparently the Cinemagic music channel is 822, if you wanna sit around with your TiVo and wait for them to play Superman Score tracks all day long :)

I have DTV and you can't record the XM stations.

That is... since TiVo built into the receiver. Maybe you can if the TiVo is it's own separate unit? Eh, what do I know about conflabbed technology?!

I'd bet since the reciever has audio outs--you could run that analog signal into whatever recording equipment you wanted and simply wait, old-school style, on the pause button to begin recording the instant you thought a Superman track was about to play ;)

I can't log in. Mostly because I'm not subscribed ;) But I'm trying anyway.

It's still going...I dont have a way to record it but I'll give a review of what I heard after it's done.

Awesome! Thanks for the heads up! Anyone with AOL can go to Radio @ AOL and give a listen there for free! Just go to the Cinemagic station.

First off they played the Prometheous<sp> clip of Lex from IESB. All the audio seems to be from those clips. Then we are thrown right into the shuttle/plane rescue. The music does well on it's own but I have no idea how it works with the action. I'm digging on Superman's personal theme. It adds a nice touch without having to replay the main theme over and over. The main theme of course is spread throughout the piece. My guess is whenever something goes his way..we get to hear it or perhaps when he is very focused on the task at hand..

Next we get the clip with Richard and Lois talking. The "did you love him" one. Then we get the music from the rooftop of the planet. This piece is hands down right now my pick. It is downright breathtaking. Ottman manages to get Krypton's theme, Superman's theme, and the Love theme all into this one piece and damnit......it works. It really is beautifull. Nice use of a choir as well. While laced with the past themes he manages to make his own work stand out....and it all fits very well. This is no doubt the equivilant of what the love theme was for the first film score. I'm very impressed with this piece...and I can't stress any more....it really is that good to me.

We then get the clip of Superman and Lois talking on the rooftop. Nothing new here...if you've seen IESBs clips...thats what it is. Then it moves into a soft build of something. I first think we are getting into Krypton's theme but I realize this has to be when Lex enters the Fortress. It starts off with a very soft and subtle krypton theme and slowly becomes ominous and corrupted. Because what we are getting is Lex's theme. It works well. Ottman seems to be a master at taking other works and incorporating it seemlessly into his own. The themes play off each other as if to signify Lex taking advantage of the fortress. I don't know if we will get a scene of him actually stealing crystals but the music certainly gives that feeling. I'm not quite sure what we will see in the fortress because in the middle of all this we get a very short hint of the Superman main theme. I don't know if this means we will see anything other than crystals in there but we might see more. Otherwise I'm not sure why the main theme would pop up just out of nowhere unless it was to herald a shot of something special.

All in all I'd say this really does exceed my expectations. I wasnt prepared for how well Ottman really does mesh the old with the new. The rooftop piece is outstanding. The plane piece is exciting. And Lex's theme gives a downright uneasy feeling. If the soundtrack is as good as the film then the reviews of the film we have been reading are spot on. Because this could be Ottman reaching his peak.

Agreed. I flipped out when I heard the plane music--that soaring, rythmic theme is amazing! I'm really impressed by what Ottman has accomplished.
