Who says they will announce it ? They could go the route & surprise us. They dont have to announce every little thing

Increase the ratings! Smallville finale is usually an event episode, but announcing a SR trailer debut will just bring more people in to watch.

The surprise would be a nice treat for consistently loyal fans, such as myself, but announcing it ahead of times would tickle the whiskers of the non-Smallville fan bringing in an array of other folks, Superman fans, movie buffs, etc.

Not every Theater Shows the same Trailers either & that includes new ones. So either way if its not part of that Screening that means nothing

Again, not really, no. People typically dont' tune in just for an ad. It's a nice little extra, but the number of people excited about the idea, as far as Warner's concerned, will just download the trailer from the website, or were already going to watch the show. It's a nice incentive and nudge for people who were probably going to watch the show anyway, but it's not a guaranteed ratings grabber

10 minute preview is something else, those have turned into really nice marketing tools. But the trailer isn't like a beacon call for wayward fanboys to jack up the ratings.

That said, they probably WILL announce it beforehand

But as I have said earlier theres a problem. If the Trailer Premieres with Mission Impossible 3 & gets Online a Week Earlier (those that can watch it) there will obviously be a group of Superman Fans that dont watch the Show that will choose not to even bother. If WB wants to promote Superman Returns their best bet will be during the Finale & have something entirely new ready. Then Fans of both sides will DEFINITELY WATCH IT

They should just put it with Mission: Impossible III, it's get great hype at the moment. Poseidon doesn't look too good, it'd make sense to put it with Poseidon, but if it's finished, it'd make sense to get it out with the first big movie of the season.

He never said it did,he said any new trailers that are released will be with it so if SR is released with Mi-3 he'll see it

No, what he said was that if there were trailers to be attached to this print, they'd be attached for the screening. That's what he was told. Meaning that if Superman Returns is sent out, the projectionist is going to attach it for the screening he's going to.
