I was gonna make this better but ill allow you guys to post the pics since i have a problem trying to doit. But basically...from the tv shows and movies, not really the comics since the superman symbol changes so much in the comics cause the artists need to keep making it page after pager and stuff, what superman symbol, emblem do you like the most. I wasnt a fan of the superman returns one for some reason. For me seriously the symbol many times has its own personality and strength. The christopher reeve one was very strong to me for some reason. The Lois and clark one looked stupid, just didnt really get my attention. So i was just curious what you all thought and which ones u liked and why. :supes:

I like the recent symbol that was used after 1 year later. It mirrors rouths 3d sheild but you know like bigger.

I know you said "not from the comics" but i really need to say that Supes on the cover of Action Comics 822 is teh best picture of him. The \S/ that Ian churchill draws is the best ive seen. I dont like the one from SR cuz being that its raised and looks rubber, it has an odd texture and other contour lines.

I like the classic emblem best.

I really like the classic look of the Returns "S", and I really like the classic one, the main one you see everywhere on stickers and so on, I bought a poster of it recently.

John Byrne and Dan Jurgens drew great :supes: 's, and so did Tom Grummet.:)

I like the Bizarro S too, the backwards one that's pretty much purple.

The Donner emblem is my absolute favorite. I like it so much it's on my left shoulder, and I plan on getting a duplicate in red on my right one.

by donner's do you mean the marketing symbol or the symbol on reeve's costume? I prefer the one on the costume.

I liked Returns. It has that modern look to it. Lois and Clark was just plain stupid lookin. (symbol i mean)

1. The official, traditional, most popular and best. The third most recognised symbol worldwide.

2. Alex Ross' Kingdom Come version, based on the early animated shorts. The most 'logical' version, as it looks like an alien synbol which only vaguely resembles an 'S'.

3. Superman Lives! version, based on an early comicbook version.

4. Superman Lives! marketing version

5. Variations appearing in early comics

Marketing. I have a metallic blue one for my tat. I had to go to eight different tattoo outfits before I found an artist talented enough to duplicate the crystal look of it.

i tried to start a new thread, but couldn't. what i'm looking for are ideas on a gif or jpg to make for a friend's birthday. he is into superman and i want to personalize it with his name, but was looking for something more along the lines of "hero for God" or another christian theme. any ideas?

I like the traditional configuration, with the black background instead of yellow.
It makes supes look more serious, and less campy.

Watched Hereafter again, and I just love how they made the logo on the coffin look. It doesn't necessarily look different in terms of design, so it's hard to describe. I think it's the coloring that gives it that homemade sewn on feel.

The Singer one is the best... If you take away the texture.

I like the Superman Returns logo with the texture and everything, I think I like it because the "S" is not tomato orange and is more of a burgundy color so he doesn't look like a cartoon. I also like the original "S" with the black background instead of the yellow, and for some reason I always thought that Kingdom Come's Superman logo was cool because before I read it I thought it represented some type of evil Superman.

I gotta go with the Kingdom Come logo also. I also like this Sups the best.

I vote for the classic shield that was used on the 70's comics and the Richard Donner films. I finally tracked down a T-shirt with that logo at Wizard World (hard to find in 3XL), and I love it!

I dunno, it looks like a quickie drawing to me. I don't really like the way the logo's drawn in the cartoons. It never stays consitent. At the very least, the colors don't get randomly inverted like in those old Hanna Barbara cartoons. :whatever:
