Okay, now usually I wouldn't start such a thread when there are still episodes left to go in the current season, but...

*squeals with glee at this concept finally happening*

Having wrong opinions can be fun, but be sure not to overdo it.

While it is a bit cheesy, I can't think of a property more inline with the spirit of the Scooby Doo cartoons than Supernatural (especially the early seasons).

Besides, they already went "half-way" towards cartoons in an episode a couple of season ago. Might as well go full-bore

They have done equally bizarre stuff before and without knowing a context for this episode it is way too early to say how it will play out.

Great idea though. I'm wondering if our good friend Loki the Trickster is coming back or if there is some other angel inspired shenanagins going on.

The show's funnier, more out there episodes have usually ended up being among my favorite episodes of the show, so I'm definitely looking forward to it, and, like a lot of people, Scooby-Doo was one of my absolute favorite cartoons as a kid, so the nostalgia factor is definitely exciting as well. This also has reminded me about the sandwich that appeared in one of their more comedic episodes.

Sounds awesome. I hope they at least manage to get Frank Welker and Matthew Lillard to play Fred and Shaggy.

Just to be clear: one of season 13's episodes will be a cartoon featuring scooby doo?

:hehe: That should be fun.

Yep.

Depending on execution, this may very well unseat The French Mistake or Monster Movie as my favorite concept/meta episode.

what a really suspenseful season finale... whew, I'm actually worn out from all the tension tonight... and that ending... oh boy... it DON'T look good...

And it probably sets up a Scooby episode, lol.

I haven't watched the show in years. But I might have to tune in for the Scooby episode.

Since this thread is here might has well post here:

The penultimate episode was probably one of the best of the season. The finale was more of a setup for next season which seems to be a common trend now in shows.

So Cas and Crowley are "dead". Mary and Luci are in a alternate reality with Bobby and now there's a aged nephilim.
Guessing Season 13 will tackle the other reality stuff.

Just based on the fact that the S12 finale wasn't immediately followed up with [blackout]Misha Collins/Mark Sheppard[/blackout] postmortem/exit interviews, I'm guessing we haven't seen the last of them, but...

I do think those iterations of the characters are gone, and now that other world's variations of Cas and Crowley take their places, and serves as a sort of reset where both of those characters are concerned. A Cas that is less the Winchesters' pet angel and more the soldier we first met, and a Crowley that is less their Leo Getz and more the King of the Crossroads. Or, considering the condition of the world we saw, probably a soldier himself.

Scooby crossover is Kripke-approved.

Known this for awhile, can now reveal how PSYCHED I am! I LOVED those Scooby-with-celebs episodes. Now to be one? HEAVEN. #scoobynatural

Probably skipping the Scooby episode. I am sure it will be fun but I am not at that level of fandom for the show. I just want to see the main plot unfold.

Bye bye Mark

Supernatural Season 13: Mark Sheppard Not Returning as a Series Regular

It appears at least one of Supernatural‘s many finale deaths will stick.
Mark Sheppard will not return to the CW drama as a series regular for Season 13, TVLine has confirmed.
RELATEDSupernatural Meets Scooby-Doo? Jinkies, It’s Happening!
Sheppard first hinted at his departure Tuesday night via an Instagram post: “So to all my #spnfamily everywhere… my crew and my fellow storytellers… thanks for the ride. Time for something new.”

Sheppard’s frenemy character Crowley — who recurred for several years before the actor was promoted to series regular in Season 10 — sacrificed his own life during last Thursday’s finale in order to seal the rift between worlds.
Supernatural returns this fall on The CW, where it will continue to air Thursdays at 8/7c.

Ugh a lame death for such an ejoyable character.

I felt his death was appropriate and set up with Crowley's rivalry with Lucifer and having it end it with Crowley screwing over Lucifer and closing the Gates of Hell with the spell. Appropriate final words too lol.

It doesn't necessarily mean he is gone for good (this is Supernatural afterall) but it is still a disappointingly quick end to Crowley none the less.

Frankly I would prefer they permanently kill Cas and bring back Crowley.

The Scooby crossover will probably happen because of the nephilim. Me thinks there will be a lot of universe hopping in season 13.

I hope they at least manage to get Frank Welker and Matthew Lillard to play Fred and Shaggy.

One thing I keep thinking is how I wish Rowena was still around. She was starting to get interesting and almost a decent human. Of course being the tricky witch she is this might not really be the end of her but Lucifer did act confident about it.

That said I know it is about as likely as Charlie or their father coming back or any other fan favorites. Maybe a temporary situation (how many times have we had Bobby back in some form or another).

I would normally think she wasnt dead, but the finale had Cas dying like a chump and Crowley dying in a heroic selfless manner so wtf, maybe they did kill her off screen like an afterthought.
