"It’s a more exciting story than we’ve dealt with before because war has begun and we’re living in a war time season. We always aim for the mythic storytelling of LORD OF THE RINGS or STAR WARS, and we finally have reached the point where the chessboard has been set and its time for all of the big battles to begin. That’s where we are and it’s very exciting. In a way it’s a much cleaner mythology than the yellow-eyed demon and what his plans are for Sam and what the psychic children are here for. Now its wartime to choose a side, fight, and that’s what’s at stake."
- Eric Kripke, regarding Season 3.

Since this is a brand new season of Supernatural- premiering OCTOBER 4TH- I thought I might as well start off the new thread for Supernatural. Mods, feel free to merge- if you wish- to create one generalized Supernatural thread.

And if this stays, first to introduce myself- my name on here is Tempest19, but my name at the number one fan site for Supernatural- supernatural.tv is Dean5339!

I am currently managing a virtual series for the show Multus Tempestas and I am the writer for the SN.TV section: Inside the Legend which takes a look at all the supernatural entities explored in each episode updated weekly when the seasons begin.

Well, now that I've got that out of the way... SN Season 3 premieres OCTOBER 4th.

I can be your inside man into all of the latest scoops, rumors, and news about the show.

I think it might be best to have four posts following this that will be updated regularly:

1. Videos.

2. Interviews of particular notice.

3. Episode summaries/ Spoilers.

4. Misc. news.

And once again, mods feel free to merge if you want.

It's going to take me a while to get this thread fully up and running with all the latest news and etc., but in the mean time- check out:

The number one place for all the SN news and information.

3.04.: Sin City

Sam and Dean investigate Elizabethville, Ohio. Two months ago, Elizabethville was just like any other factory town. 3.05.: Bedtime Stories

Fairy tales come to life when the brothers investigate Callie, a young girl who seems to personify Snow White. Poisoned by her stepmother and trapped in a coma, the spirit becomes angrier as more time passes. Callie's father visits her constantly, reading her original Brothers Grimm stories and unknowingly inspiring her carnage. Sam confronts him and forces him to listen to his daughter. While Dean sleeps, Sam slips out and confronts the Crossroads Demon with the Colt, procured by Ruby and rebuilt by Bobby. She refuses to let Dean out of the deal and says there's another boss who controls what she does. Sam shoots her in the head, killing the possessed human.
3.06.: Red Sky At Morning

Dean and Sam visit a woman, Gertrude, whose niece may have been drowned by ghosts from a sunken ship, only to find that the woman is well aware of that possibility and their cover has already been blown by Bela. Without missing a beat, Dean smoothly goes along with the woman's realization. Later, Bela and Dean struggle for the upper hand and Sam tries to avoid Gertrude's while they act as a distraction.
3.07.: New Blood

Gordon is taken captive by a vengeful vampire who plans, at first, to feed the famed vampire hunter to his new female companions. When Dean tries to gently break the news that they'll have to kill him when they find him, Sam surprises him by agreeing without protest. Later, the boys realize just how badly the vampire's plans backfired on it when Gordon was turned into what he loathed most...

All 3 episodes sound pretty good. Cant wait for S3. This is easily The CW's best show.

I really/deeply wish that I had gotten into this show from the start of season 1.

:csad: :down

UPDATE: Episode post updated with details for the FOURTH episode this season.

Alright, I finally got my copy of Nevermore and to say that Keith R.A. DeCandidio doesn't have everything nailed would be a lie. The story itself is set between a very specific point between Season Two episodes and continues the tradition of dealing with elements like the show.

DeCandido nails it, without question.

Now, I'm eagerly awaiting my guides and issue number three of the comic.

Great to hear.

Picking it up at the end of the week, have finals coming up that I need to force myself to focus on- unfortunately. :( But, hell, after this week- no school! :)

Lucky man. I'm going back myself.

I've got just about everyone of the books ordered from Amazon.com, so I should have them within about the week they come out.

You're going to love to read the playlist in the back of the book. DeCandido pulled a lot of songs from "Crossroad Blues" and various songs throughout the season to help him get through the book.

Thus far the book really has the pacing of the show nailed. It's like DeCandido really put some overtime into this one after finishing up RESIDENT EVIL: EXTINCTION.

I thought it was fascinating how neatly they ended Season 2, considering the uncertainty of the show's future. Thank God it's coming back. I simply can't get enough.

Sci-Fi interviews has been updated with a season 3 interview with Kripke... one of the key highlights... an evil Santa Claus:

"We'll never run out as long as they keep us on the air," Kripke said. "I just found a urban legend about the anti-Claus, an evil Santa Claus, the one who doesn't come to give you gifts, the one who comes to punish you when you're naughty. It's called the Belsnickel in Maryland. And we were like, 'Great. The Supernatural Christmas episode.'"

Love Kripke's approach. He's like Joss Whedon on Speed except with urban legends as his foreground.

^ Haha. That'd be friggin' awesome.

I ordered "Nevermore" on Sunday. Should be here by the end of the week.

Does anyone know the release date for the Second Season DVD?
