I figured with news on Season 6 to start soon there should be a thread for it, so let the discussion begin!

9:00-10:00 P.M. "SUPERNATURAL"

Returning for its sixth season, this haunting series follows Sam and Dean Winchester, two brothers bound by tragedy and blood to their dangerous, other-worldly mission. This past season, Dean and Sam faced their toughest foe yet: the Devil himself. As the Apocalypse raged on around them, the brothers, aided only by a dwindling band of fellow hunters and rebel angel Castiel, sought a way to stop Lucifer and save the planet. Ultimately, they discovered a way to force Lucifer back into Hell and end the Apocalypse - but at tremendous cost: Sam's life. Season six will be a season of mystery and shadow. Heaven and Hell have been left in complete disarray since the apocalyptic events of season five. And now, monsters, angels and demons roam across a lawless and chaotic landscape. And so Dean Winchester, who has retired from hunting and sworn never to return, finds himself being pulled back into his old life - pulled back by none other than Sam Winchester, who has escaped from Hell. The two reunite to beat back the rising tide of creatures and demon-spawn, but they quickly realize that neither are who they used to be, their relationship isn't what it used to be, and that nothing is what it seems.

The series stars Jared Padalecki as Sam Winchester, Jensen Ackles as Dean Winchester and Misha Collins as Castiel. SUPERNATURAL is from Warner Bros. Television in association with Wonderland Sound and Vision, with executive producers McG ("Nikita," "Charlie's Angels," "The O.C."), Eric Kripke ("Boogeyman"), Robert Singer ("Midnight Caller"), Sera Gamble, Ben Edlund and Phil Sgriccia.

Second!

Good news to hear that Castiel is coming back. I thought he would be gone forever. I hope they do a time jump at the start of season 6 though. If Dean is "retired" then a few years should pass between season 5 and season 6.

We can expect some footage by July 22-25 at Comic-Con.

Castiel won't be gone completely, though I doubt he'll be a regular like he was this season.

I too am glad Castiel will be back.

Well season 6 is most likely the last one in the series so...

urrrgg that sucks... but at the same time.. im okay with it. its going to be the last season so there really arent any worries of it getting cancelled. AND it will be repaired with Smallville. LIKE IT SHOULD BE!

YAY FOR SEASON SIX!

I swear this network is run by freaking morons!

I'm just throwing this out there, but i think the reason Season 5 had such good ratings, cause it was because its lead in show was Vampire Diaries.

And why the hell is that stupid model show still around!

I wouldn't expect too serious a drop-off. And with Smallville definitely ending after next season, it may wind up with a seventh season on Friday.

Its like its been on Thursday for almost its entire run. Minus the first couple weeks, which aired on Tuesday.

The upside to Fridays is that they're not competing against every hit show under the sun and get a good lead in with biggest guy oriented show on the CW, Smallville. It will take a hit during big movie premiere weekends, but it shouldn't drop off too much considering the circumstances and no one has anything notable on Friday except the CW.

If its the show's last season then ratings aren't really an issue.

It's more than likely gonna depend upon the winter break (If it comes back in the fall and not January). If the show is getting great ratings and good reviews and everyone is happy, then we'll probably see a seventh season and own Fridays on the CW by itself.

It'll also depend on how their new shows fare. If they have a couple more Melrose Place flame-outs, then it'll get a seventh season regardless.

do the actors still want to continue? I know they are only signed up to season 6.

With Smallville and Supernatural ending, and wrestling having switched networks, I'm gonna have no reason to ever watch CW again :D

Thank you

But they said if the ratings are good and the stories are still go, it get another season.

Eh, I'm ready to see it end, honestly

Which is one reason Smallville probably lasted so long, though I've never watched so I don't know the backstory of how it lasted for ten years.

I'll be so grateful to have Smackdown on Syfy in October.

If it does end up as the final season for Supernatural, then it will be neat to see both it and Smallville ride out together on Friday, but then, as Spoons and Kingfish said, that extinguishes all need for a heterosexual male to watch the CW. I'm not sure if the CW can lose two of its biggest shows in the same year.
