This is not a thread of if or can they. Just wondering how you would handle their appearing in the Arrowverse?

Also, if they are not allowed to be actually on the show. But, they can be mentioned and discussed. How would you do it?

I would have some kind of appearance from an alternate Earth. *Probably* not Earth-2, another one. Now, this could range anywhere from "easter egg" ( which we are getting on Legends of Tomorrow anyway ) to "full blown characters in a parallel world arc".

The key thing is, I would not pretend for a second that they could natively exist on Earth-1/CW. If I absolutely had to have *something*, I'd give them both alternate reality happy endings: on Earth-1, Krypton never exploded and the Waynes never got killed. Kal-El grew up and lives a happy life as one of Krypton's bright stars ( and possibly recruited into the GLC ), while Bruce Wayne is the talented corporate mogul and philanthropist who runs the family empire.

Yeah I'd rather them not be in the universe at all if there were just gonna be a mention of them or a line in a newspaper. An easter egg on another earth would be fine.

I'd be fine on earth 1 showing Bruce's parents at a Wayne enterprise event showing they didn't die and he never became Batman.

This is where I am.

I think they should exist on earth 1 and allow for supergirl crossovers

Problem is, they *don't* exist on Earth 1, and can't be plausibly inserted. Doubly so given the details of how things work on Supergirl.

I'd love to support more crossovers, but it just doesn't work with the shows as established. The best you could do is introduce Superman as a new hero, which wouldn't allow for anything from Supergirl to cross over, anyway. It'd also either make Superman something of a johnny-come-lately, or else an obnoxious marty stu who overshadows the established heroes. Neither is desirable.

Rip Hunter's comments about having seen Men of Steel die and Dark Knights fall indicates that Superman and Batman DO exist on "Earth-1" (or WILL exist at some point in the future).

It's just a nod, they obviously want them to appear but because they can't they drop these little comments. It used to be done on Smallville all the time.

:oldrazz:

I'm actually agreeing with you that they probably do exist in the universe at some point in time but I don't think they are likely to appear and the mentions are mere nods to their existence. Like I said they did it on Smallville with some characters but we never saw them.

^ And I disagree with the "they're not likely to ever appear" sentiment... hence why I tried to be funny with the Jungle Book image. :)

For Batman, you could have that and then do a little spin-off show with Rip Hunter or some other time traveler turning up and telling Bruce that time has gone all wrong and he has to help fix it, which of course resets his life to his parents being murdered and him becoming Batman.

It would introduce Batman into the Arrow-verse without you having to pretend that he'd been there all along.

Fair enough, you do know even though I argue with you often on this that I want you to be right though. I'd love to see these guys appear for sure.

Only if you presume he has no access to alternate timelines. Which, given we know they *do* exist. . . kind of presuming way ahead of facts.

Here is a never going to happen "what if?"

What if....Warner decides to merge the arrow-flash verse with the cinematic verse. Not saying Bats or Supes appears on tv. But, they decided to use Gustin and Amell in the movies. How would they merge the two? I would just have an episode of either Flash, Arrow or both that shows Supes battle with Zod. Thus merging the two to the same time frame. The biggest problem you have is retconning the Suicide Squad.

Yes..I know this won't happen and great if you don't want it to happen. This is a question for those who do.

Tonight's Oracle reference probably suggests the Bat Family exists.

May be!

Thanks Eplo

They should at least be allowed to discuss Bats & Supes. Don't have to show them. Just aggravating.

Its an easter egg, nothing more. Just like how the Harley Quinn voice from s2 is just an easter egg.

But I remember somewhere they said that DC scuppered their plans of actually having Quinn. Thus they then had Cupid. I could be wrong.

The producers themselves never confirmed that they had plans to use Harley that were scrapped, but I continue to be convinced that whatever restrictions the show is under with regards to Suicide Squad-related characters are temporary and were put in place by the request of someone (most likely someone directly involved with the Suicide Squad movie).

Batman comes to Star City, hunts down Oliver, beats him up and locks him in jail. Felicity breaks up with him and marries Ronnie Raymond's dad, after becoming a metahuman Laurel and Batgirl form the birds of prey, Diggle has a nice happy ending with his wife and daughter, his reformed brother, his wife and son that they don't talk about much and Batman defeats Damien Darkh by recruiting the Flash to, at lightning speed, knock him out and put him in a medically induced coma. Roy comes back, he and Thea have a happy ending I guess whatever as tag team of red hooded heroes. Every few weeks Thea takes an injection of Darkh's blood to make it so she doesn't have the bloodlust ever again. Batman then reveals that Tommy is alive, he becomes Green Arrow, the real hero of Star City and gets back with Laurel. They have a very good relationship.

God bless you all! God bless everyone!

And then Ollie wakes up, and wonders what the *hell* were those drugs he got dosed with. ;)

As for embargoes, they sure don't seem especially temporary as Waller goes. Not that I mind, she died as she deserved: killed because she's smugly indifferent to human suffering. I fear for Katana, though.
