Supes or Bats: Who will get there first?

Regardless of your politics I think it's safe to say that Donald Trump being elected president has been one of the most compelling and captivating stories in recent memory. One way or another everyone is watching and everyone has an opinion.

Well everyone always likes to talk about how we can make these movies more topical and relevant, what better time than right now to capitalize on the cultural zeitgeist?

So SHH I ask you this. Which movie mirroring reality about a controversial figure running for office is going to get made first:

- President Luthor

- Mayor Cobblepot

They did the Mayor Cobblepot arc in Batman Returns.

True but that doesn't mean they can't do it again.

Plus Returns didn't really do too much with it. This time it has a lot more potential.

I'd love to see the President Luthor arc eventually, but I cannot imagine them doing it with Jesse Eisenberg's Looney Tunes rendition of the character.

I'd say we see President Luthor first, but we are talking way down the road when the current DCEU gets rebooted. The next time we see Penguin (and God only knows when that will be) I imagine they'll want to distance themselves from the Returns one as much as possible. I doubt they do the mayor thing twice in a row.

Keep in mind the mayor subplot in Returns was lifted from an episode of Adam West Batman.

Sadly by the time either of these movies come to fruition, the Trump saga will have probably long since ended. Which means you essentially lose that added thematic weight. But hey that's not to say it still can't make for a great movie.

I can't really see President Luthor being even slightly plausible with the way they've already done up Lex in BvS.

Such a damn shame what they did with Lex.

Always fun to see all the comments from conservatives every time the Supergirl TV show takes a jab at trump. So I can imagine the response at something really big like a movie compared to a low rated TV show.
