Post your sushi porn here.

Sushi haters stay out (or be destroyed) :ninja:

I love sushi. Unfortunately I can't find a place willing to make true sashimi in the area. I don't know if it is a no market or afraid people will get sick reason.

Ah, true. Well I prefer eel sauce anyway because it's sweet like candy :woot:

Tuna Tataki is the **** though. :hubba

Well, it depends how authentic you want to be. Eel sauce is obviously only supposed to be eaten with eel, lol. But if you like it, knock yourself out.

Honestly, sometimes with really great sushi, it doesn't need anything, except a smidgen of wasabi.

Wasabe only for me. Either of the black sauces is too strong and ruins my own appreciation of the fish. IMO, it's like putting ketchup on a nice steak.

I've tried sushi maybe twice and I never got into it. However, I want to start eating more fish and less beef.

So, JJJ, what would you recommend as the healthiest kind of sushi?

Well, I think it's all pretty healthy, unless you're having a California roll slathered with mayo*. But real sushi, like a sliver of tuna belly-fat, or yellowtail, or salmon on a bed of rice, are all awesome imho. I also love eel and sea urchin, but those are more acquired tastes. Of course, it's up to individual taste. But it's also up to the places where you try it. Just like pizza or any kinda food, there's really BAD sushi and average sushi out there. Check out which places Yelp! would recommend around your area and give it another shot.

Just make sure you're not eating bluefin tuna. If you're not sure, ask.

It's true you shouldn't eat bluefin tuna, but that's such a premium item it'd be hard to order it accidentally. You'd know it's bluefin by its enormous price tag.

Well now I have a craving. I know what I'm eating tonight now.

True, but it depends in part on the cut. Toro from bluefin is some pricey ****! I've come close to ordering it accidentally.

Before I understood the situation with the species, I had eaten it...and it's the most delicious fish I've ever tasted. Hands down.

I've also eaten shark-fin soup (I think I was about ten years old at the time). Not proud of that one. :csad:
